We loved our time with ProTours! - This review is about as delayed as our tour was but Antonio was so lovely and accommodating I still wanted to post. We visited Terceira island in April 2023 after being COVID delayed from a planned March 2020 trip. We were visiting for a week and when we were looking into the pre planned tours there was a lot of overlap between the companies. So we reached out to Antonio to see if we could just personalize our tours with him so we didn’t have the overlaps we would have if we booked on our own and it was amazing. Every day he had new adventures planned for us in the 4x4 Land Rovers, we had home made lunches he prepared and his team set up at a scenic location (pictures from one of our picnic locations). I’m not talking sandwiches in a brown bag, I mean different types of stews, grilled meats, sides, appetizers ,drinks the whole thing. After lunch we’d be off to our next spot. Even on our days without him he was making suggestions as to what to do, where to go, how to do it and helped us make arrangements with other groups for water activities. The beautiful hydrangeas you see in Google pictures weren’t bloomed yet in April but it was a much more quiet time to visit in terms of crowds, so we were told. But we’ll definitely be returning one day and when we do Antonio will be the first person we reach out to. He was lively, full of knowledge, and fun to be around. He’ll bend over backwards to make sure you have an amazing time on the island and you can telll how much he loves what he does. You won’t be disappointed!!

Great half-day discovering Terceira - We had an amazing day with Dora who showed us the most awesome viewpoints and places on Terceira. An amazing tour guide, she provided lots of info on the island and the people, answering any questions about the culture, history, customs and current trends. We were lucky with the weather and had a mostly sunny day but it can get quite windy. Totally recommend the tour 😁

Great experience with ProIslandTour. - My wife and I booked a half day island tour in Antonio’s 4x4 and we are so glad that we did. Antonio was a very competent driver and an excellent guide. We visited places we wouldn’t have seen in our less than stellar rental car. Even though the island is not large there are plenty of great sights and interesting places to visit. We highly recommend booking at least a half day tour. Thank you Antonio!

Terceira Beauty - Fantastic tour of the Island with Antonio! Nice small group tour of Terceira, we saw so much more than any big bus tour could have shown us. Antonio was awesome and really took pride in his home Island. I would highly recommend this tour!

Amazing and fun - Carolina was amazing, my husband spent 3 years here in the 80’s and a lot has changed and Carolina kept trying to show him something he hadn’t seen before. She was so fun and accommodating. She wanted to make our daughter’s first trip back since she was a baby memorable. She is an absolute delight and highly recommended this tour. You get to see how diverse the island is, from ocean, farm land to forests. This tour is the best way to see a lot of the island in a short time period.

Excellent half-day - It was an excellent tour. We were taken to some breathtaking views, and our guide, Carolina had such a wealth of knowledge on literally every topic and was so nice!! The car was super clean and she made a good driver, too. Carolina took us to some of the most stunning places I've ever seen.

A wonderful time with excellent service - An amazing experience! Antonio is an incredible guide with so much knowledge and love for his island. One of our co guests was very inquisitive about history and life on the island and he had an answer for nearly every question she asked - I learned so much! He even brought us to a few spots that weren't planned for (a banana plantation, a cat sanctuary) simply because I mentioned a vague interest in the plantation and said that I love cats. I would absolutely recommend taking a tour with this company, you won't regret it, plus it's a family run business which is always nice to support. It was a highlight of our trip on the Azores. Worth every penny for sure.

More than we expected - Antonio, our guide, was terrific. His knowledge of the island was tremendous, but he also knew when to let the island’s beauty do the talking. We saw parts of the island that we never would have seen without the tour. A++

Excellent way to quickly see Terceira - Great guidance by Marcos, beautiful tour of the island. Jeeps navigated the rough dirt and cobblestone roads quickly. Four door cars were available for others; we had a two-person group, so our car was two door, with bench seating in the back (driver and separate front passenger seats, and front to back drivers side bench, as well as a front to back passenger side bench. No back support, no shoulder strap, and I had to slouch down since my head would hit the ceiling easily and couldn’t sit up straight. Wife get car sick, so she got the front seat; my neck didn’t feel great after the bumpy ride and crawling in and out of the back… this car would be great for a 1 person tour; if the back was used, should be only with kids. Perhaps a photo and disclosure pre-booking would have been nice.
