Wonderful experience - -Tour was very good (but long). Basically a full day lasting 8-9 hrs including the commute. -Excellent value for the money. -Anastasiya was excellent. Very knowledgeable and well versed in the history of the region and Lisbon in general. -She was always helpful, pleasant and willing to assist in any way. -She gave us amazing insights into all the places that we visited and it was obvious that she took her job very seriously and was prepared with a wealth of information. -Very relaxed pace and a chance to take many photos, stay longer in areas that we liked and no pressure at all to move along faster than we wanted. -I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone and will definitely do another tour with her should we return to Lisbon in the future.

Wonderful Day exploring Templar history - Wonderful day with Joao exploring Templar history. He is so knowledgeable and wholeheartedly shares his knowledge with such enthusiasm. A well planned and organized trip. Joao was on time and flexible, paced the day comfortably so full but not rushed, and he was willing to drop me off in Belem for meeting up with friends after a full day, sharing pointers for where to dine and what to be sure not to miss there as well. All the great reviews are true, Joao’s genuine enthusiasm and depth of knowledge make a day tour with Joao a memorable experience! And he offers to take so many pictures, all with the knowledge of the perfect locations and backgrounds to help preserve your memories of a great day. Thank you Joao!

Exploring Tomar with Joao - My mother, my bestie and I went on a journey through Tomar, Portugal, guided by Joao, was an absolute delight that surpassed all expectations. Joao’s passion for the town’s history and his deep knowledge of its cultural heritage made our experience truly memorable. It was wonderful to get into the countryside and out of Lisbon-proper. Highlights of Our Tour: Convent of Christ: Joao's expertise brought the Convent of Christ alive with fascinating tales of its Templar origins and intricate Manueline architecture. The Charola was a highlight, and Joao’s insights into its symbolism and history added a profound layer to our visit. Castle of Tomar: Climbing up to the Castle of Tomar, Joao provided us with a detailed account of its strategic importance throughout history. The views from the castle walls were breathtaking, and Joao’s narratives painted a vivid picture of the town’s evolution over the centuries. He was mindful of my mom's need to climb a little slower and stay away from the taller heights. Culinary Delights: Joao’s recommendations for dining in Tomar were spot-on. Engaging Experience: Joao’s warm personality and enthusiasm for Tomar made the tour engaging and enjoyable for everyone in our group. He encouraged questions, fostered a sense of camaraderie among us, and ensured that each of us felt included and valued throughout the day. Practical Aspects: Organization: Joao’s tour was well-organized, with a comfortable pace that allowed us to absorb the sights and information without feeling rushed. Logistics: From transportation arrangements to ensuring accessibility and comfort for all participants, Joao handled logistics seamlessly, allowing us to focus on enjoying our exploration of Tomar. Joao’s tour of Tomar was a perfect blend of education, exploration, and enjoyment. His passion for the town and his expertise as a guide made our visit truly unforgettable. We wholeheartedly recommend Joao to anyone looking to discover Tomar with a knowledgeable and personable guide. Thank you, Joao!

Must see - This is my second time to Lisbon and third tour I’ve done with Kitzel Tours. First of all I’d like to thank our guide for the most amazing tour and history of all the sites we visited. The pickup was on time, car was comfortable, and water was provided. We started our day taking a small boat (cost 4 euro per person to go on boat cash only) across a moat to a castle. We climbed the castle and got some incredible views from the top. Next we drove to a church (free entry). Third stop was at a nice restaurant for lunch. Fourth stop was my favorite cost 10 euros a person to enter. The final stop was to an aqueduct which was interesting because we got to climb the stairs and walk on top. Overall amazing day can’t recommend enough!

Great day at Tomar - Hello! We had a wonderful day with Joao(John). It was a discovery. His historical knowledge is worthy of a professional. The day went by very quickly. We learned a lot and Joao was very available for our questions, or just to take pictures of us. We discovered a beautiful part of Portugal. By the way, our lunch was great, and we received a very warm welcome. If we go back to Portugal, we'll ask Joao again to show us another part of the country. I recommend this tour for everyone. Thank you for a wonderful day. Josée and Claude
