Highlights

Leh Airport Pick-up & Day at rest for acclimatization

Leh - Upon arrival at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport (Leh Airport), situated amidst the majestic Himalayan Mountain Range, you’ll be greeted by Unplugged Life’s representative. Leh Airport, one of the highest and most scenic airports globally, is surrounded by vast golden brown, barren mountains, offering a stunning visual treat. You’ll be transferred to your hotel in Leh City, where you can spend the rest of the evening acclimatizing by taking a leisurely stroll around your lodgings. Overnight stay in Leh City, which was once a significant stop on the Asian “Silk Route”.

Leh Local Sightseeing (100 km / 7-9 hrs)

Leh Royal Palace - Explore the ruins of the 350-year-old, nine-story Leh Palace, which provides a breathtaking view of Leh city and its surroundings.

Shanti Stupa - The Shanti Stupa, built in 1991 by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu Gyomyo Nakamura and inaugurated by the 14th Dalai Lama, stands as a symbol of peace and spirituality in the serene Himalayan landscape. Its elevated location offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the quaint town of Leh below.

Leh Market - The bustling Leh Market in Ladakh offers a vibrant shopping experience amidst the stunning Himalayan landscapes. Located in the heart of Leh town, this lively market blends Ladakhi tradition with modern influences. Visitors can explore a variety of shops selling traditional handicrafts, souvenirs, trendy clothing, and local delicacies.

Magnetic Hill - Magnetic Hill, located on the Leh-Kargil-Baltik National Highway, is a natural wonder that defies explanation. This gravity-defying hill creates an optical illusion where vehicles appear to roll uphill against the force of gravity, captivating visitors’ imaginations.

Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La 17,582 ft. (127 km / 7-9 hrs)

Khardung La - After an early breakfast, you’ll check out and head to Nubra Valley via the 11th highest motorable road in the world, the mighty Khardung La Pass (17,582 ft.). This pass is almost always covered in fog and snow, but the bone-chilling cold is more than compensated by the unparalleled view of the Ladakh mountain range. Descending from Khardung La, you’ll arrive in Nubra Valley.

Nubra Valley to Tso Pangong (13,943 ft.) via Shyok River (170 km / 7-9 hrs)

Pangong Tso - After an early breakfast, drive towards Tso Pangong (13,943 ft.) via Shyok. This route passes through Agham, Shyok Village, Durbuk, and Tangste to reach Pangong Tso. The first glimpse of the tranquil, azure blue waters and the shaky lakeshore of Tso Pangong remains etched in tourists’ memories. The magic of Pangong Lake lies in its changing hues as the sun hovers over it. It is probably the bluest and most crystal-clear lake you have ever seen, home to many migratory birds, including ducks, geese, and the rare Black-necked Crane. Surprisingly, the lake lies only partially in India, with a major portion in China-occupied areas. In winter, the entire lake freezes, allowing you to walk over it. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at your accommodation and spend the rest of the evening strolling around the lake, taking in the beautiful scenery.

Tso Pangong to Leh via Chang La 17,585 ft. (175 km / 7-8 hrs)

Hemis Monastery - Hemis Monastery, located about 45 kilometers southeast of Leh, is a treasure trove of Tibetan Buddhist culture and spirituality. Founded in the 17th century by Lama Stagsang Raspa, it is dedicated to Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche), who is credited with introducing Buddhism to Tibet. The monastery’s vibrant colors, ornate carvings, and traditional Tibetan motifs reflect the rich artistic heritage of the region.

Thiksey Monastery - Thiksey Monastery, perched on a hilltop overlooking the Indus Valley, is a magnificent testament to Ladakh’s rich Buddhist heritage. Founded in the 15th century by Lama Sherab Zangpo, this sprawling monastery belongs to the Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) sect of Tibetan Buddhism and is dedicated to Maitreya, the future Buddha. Its whitewashed walls, golden stupas, and ornate rooftops create a mesmerizing sight against the rugged Himalayan backdrop.

Wonderful Ladakh trip with Unplugged life - Just concluded a week long trip to Ladakh with Unplugged life . The entire trip was planned and executed perfectly. The choice of the hotels in Leh , Nubra and Pangong was very comfortable and in good locations . We were two families on the trip and our drivers were very punctual and professional. The way Ken communicated with clarity and timely was very appreciable . He shared some awesome recommendations for local fine dining and shopping too . We never had to remind him for anything. Thank you UPL for a wonderful trip and long cherished memories.

Agar jana hai ,to unplugged ke sath jao or else enjoyment bhul jao. - I have been to so many trips across india with many other travel agencies but this was by far the best one of all..I have been to sikkim and had a horrible experience and decided that I would never go with amy agency ever again. But with unplugged life we had the best stays, delicious food ,such friendly staff and drivers . Even the transportation was so hassle-free and enjoying actually. They genuinely help you and provide you with best service .They were even cooperative when we changed some plans on time. If you guys plan a trip with unplugged life I am damn sure you will have one of the best experiences of your life.

Leh, Rafting at Sangam, Khardunglah, Shyok, Hunder, Thang, Turtuk, River view Martyr's monument, Pangong, Chang La, Shey - We were more particular about safe travel given the terrain, comfortable stay and vegetarian food. Unplugged life helped us find the perfect package catering to all the above. Mr. Ken Agarwal understood our requirements to the T and helped us select the perfect package. Coming from Western part of the Country and at the same time a passionate Ladakhi, he is the perfect bet for someone coming from a different set up trying to explore Ladakh. Food was excellent, stay was more than comfortable, travel was not only safe but our driver Mr. Tsering Wangdus was an absolute pleasure to travel with. He had complete knowledge of the terrain, gave special insights into the local history/geograhy. His rich knowledge of the fast changing weather, personal care and contacts at all places helped us sail smooth in an otherwise a very hostile atmosphere at times. Thanks to the wonderful arrangements, the trip would remain etched in our minds for years to come. We would surely travel again with Unplugged life and explore more of Ladakh with family and friends.

Visit to Leh Ladakh with Family - We had a wonderful time in Ladakh ! It was not an easy terrain specially travelling with two senior citizens, we spent 9nights in Ladakh with family - we didn’t face any problem. Ken organised the tour end to end and it was very well managed! He guided us well throughout our journey.
