Proud of its maritime heritage, Faro remains a busy and colorful port. Lagos - 15 Best Things to Do in Lagos (Portugal)

Lagos is a busy coastal town in the Algarve that has all the things people love about the region. There are beaches of all descriptions, from long sandy bays to tiny coves walled by ochre-coloured cliffs. These rocks create a breathtaking scene at Ponta da Piedade, where the bluffs and obelisks are riddled with caves and arches and the sea is a clear emerald colour.

Back in the centre of Lagos the old town is an exploring heaven, with Portuguese pavement in lovely patterns on its streets and sights that transport you to the Age of Discovery when explorers set sail from the port.

Benagil - See inside Benagil Cave is by taking a boat tour

Ponta da Piedade - See the magnificent view over the Atlantic and the shapes of the cliffs, sculpted by the sea and by time, Ponta da Piedade is an idyllic setting of jagged rocks in constant contrast with the blue-green of the waters. Located two kilometers from Lagos, on the Costa d’Oiro, and full of caves, undiscovered bays and quiet beaches, Ponta da Piedade is particularly attractive when viewed from the sea.

Great Experience - If you are looking for a private tour to the algarve coast, I’d highly recommend this 3 day excursion. Our guide, Phillip, was friendly and knowledgeable. He took the time to understand what we wanted to see and eat and adjusted the day accordingly. We took enough breaks each day so it didn’t seem like we were in the van for long periods of time. The hotel was located on a golf course which was quite nice. Overall, it was a great experience for myself and 3 friends. I would recommend requesting Phillip if you decide to book this excursion.

Beautiful Algarve - Philipp is so knowledgeable on the area that he made this trip incredible. I highly recommend if you can request him as a guide you should do so. He showed us places we didn’t know we wanted to see and also adjusted schedule according to how we were feeling. Never rushed us and kept us informed and entertained. He also was one step ahead with suggestions.
