Surprisingly nice experience - The cooking class was a really good experience. It takes place in an open kitchen which makes it really authentic. Nila and Manju explained everything really well and also in different languages. The ingredients are super fresh, there’s nothing chemical, everything is organic, receipts are simple, and in the end you enjoy a warmhearting meal. I also recommend to see the spicy garden, and the Ayurveda medicine they produce.

Must book experience! - This was one of the best experiences we’ve had in Sri Lanka. The company organised a tuk-tuk there and back which was great. The site is a gorgeous organic farm, with almost everything grown on-site. Nila and Manju were super lovely and attentive. Food was AMAZING! we were in a private kitchen outdoors which was so nice. Would highly recommend. Thanks for the experience.

Best cooking class ever - My favourite time in Sri Lanka so far! The organising was easily done on WhatsApp and we were picked up from our hostel in a tuk tuk all paid for. The site is a really lovely organic farm, where they grow all their own spices and vegetables for the cooking class. We were shown around it a little. Next week got to check out the kitchen we will use, which is an authentic outdoor but covered Sri Lanka kitchen. The hosts showed us the ingredients we were to use which were all fresh and very aromatic. They described to us the growing process, taste and health benefits of each. The cooking was really comprehensive and we got to try out all parts of it, guided by nilla the Chef. After, the meal was all prepped for us and we were shown how to eat in a Sri Lanka way, and the food tasted amazing! Photos were taken throughout and sent to us after, and so were the recipes. They sorted us a tuk tuk home afterwards too, and got dropped off at the hostel almost too full to move!

Very nice private cooking class! - First and foremost: a good cooking class. We arrived in Sri Lanka a few days ago and have already tried our way through the national cuisine. Today we cooked with Danila and got to know the ingredients. We prepared 8 dishes in total, there was more than enough for the two of us - we were completely alone - and the food was delicious. We were able to communicate with the cook to varying degrees. Her English wasn't particularly good, but it was sufficient for cooking. Unfortunately there were a few misunderstandings and not everything was as described: we booked the tour with a visit to the market. Unfortunately we were picked up from the hotel by tuktuk at 5:45 p.m. instead of 5 p.m. (organized by the organizer via pickme). We were then taken directly to the Spice Garden, not to the market as booked. We mentioned this on site. And we were told that the market closes at 5:30 p.m., so we would no longer be going there. In order to get the surcharge refunded, we now have to contact Tripadvisor. We didn't receive a welcome drink, coconut water or recipes. What a pity! We could have bought spices on site with a 30% discount. Despite the misunderstandings, we had a lovely evening and I can recommend the tour!

Wonderful local cooking school. - Good organization. The manager ordered the pick-up and return trip via Pick Me. He speaks good English and German. The cooking school is outdoors in the local spice garden. Nila, the cook, prepared super delicious dishes with us, all spices straight from the garden. We had a great time and great food.

Awesome experience with nice additional experience about Ayurveda - We had an amazing experience. We had introduction to Ayurveda plants and its powers in healing. We had some relaxing massage. This was totally unexpected but really awesome experience that we got more than we paid for. The cooking part as amazing. We made a lot of different curries while trying the ingredients and were involved in all cooking process. And what me made was the best curries we’ve tasted while being in Sri Lanka.
