Highlights
  • Monterosso al Mare - The northernmost village of the Cinque Terre is Monterosso, which is divided into two sides: the historic center and the “new” side called Fegina, with a pedestrian tunnel that connects the two. Monterosso is larger than the other towns and is the only one that offers beach services, making it the most visited of the Cinque Terre.
  • Vernazza - Vernazza the smallest of the Cinque Terre, and commonly known as the most fascinating with a beautiful marina and the Church of Santa Margherita d’Antiochia which stands right on the water. Here you will also see the Torre del Belforte which sits right on the harbor as a protective lighthouse for the small village.
  • Corniglia - Corniglia: lying 100 meters high on a cliff, Corniglia is the only one of the towns without a port and has a panoramic terrace from which you can see Manarola and Riomaggiore to the south and Vernazza and Monterosso to the north.
  • Manarola - Manarola: is located at the other end of the Via del Amore and is part of the municipality of Riomaggiore. Known for its wine production, Manarola produces the only dessert wine called Sciacchetrà found only in this area.
  • Riomaggiore - While we continue to sail along the coast of the Cinque Terre villages, we meet Riomaggiore. With brightly colored houses built vertically on the surrounding hills, Riomaggiore is the second largest of the five towns and is widely known for excellent diving spots off its coast in the marine protected area that stretches all along the Cinque Terre. Here you will also see where the famous Via del Amore pedestrian path begins, leading to nearby Manarola.

Fun evening on the sea - We really enjoyed this sunset boat tour with Captain Simone. Seeing the 5 lands from the sea and learning some history of the area from the captain was really a fresh new perspective that was well worth the cost of the tour. The captain is very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. We also enjoyed the fresh homemade local pesto and focaccia as well as the local wine that was prepared for us. We stopped for swimming and to jump off some rocks, and on the way back enjoyed the beautiful setting sun. The captain was even very amenable to changing the schedule a bit. If you are looking for a private boat tour in cinque terre, this is the one to do!

Fantastic Boat Tour - We had a great time on our sunset boat tour. We had already explored the different villages on foot, but seeing them by sea was even more beautiful. Our captain was so knowledgeable and fun, and the focaccia bread and pesto (made by his mother) was amazing. This was definitely a highlight of our stay in Cinque Terre.

Cruising In Style - Simone is the best ever! Jump right into the water, why not?! The pesto is homemade by his mother, truly a special treat. Could not have asked for a better trip.

Perfect time on the water! - So much fun to experience Cinque Terre by water, to take photos from the sea! Simone was so fun, and knowledgeable to answer questions about the area! We enjoyed the time on the water with wine, pesto and foccacia! He was very responsive and checked in before the tour to set it up! So much fun!

Best boat tour of our trip! - We took a Cinque Terre sunset cruise with Captain Simone. Of all of our boat excursions on this vacation (there were 4), Simone was by far the best experience. He loves his job, and it shows through. He was highly engaging and fun - he provided great food and drinks for us (the Pesto and Foccacia were to die for!) and a few fab swimming spots. Our tour with Simone was one of the best experiences of our trip. And to top it off, on the way home, we saw a large pod of dolphins that we all enjoyed following and some mountain goats. Highly recommend!!!

False Advertising - Cold, Rainy evening. No pesto or wine as advertised, just cold soggy focaccio. Would not recommend. Take the water taxi and get a similar experience for alot less.
