Highlights

1st day - Puno - Taquile

TITICACA LAKE & TAQUILE ISLAND - 3.5 HOURS BY BOAT (SIB SERVICE)

After breakfast, meet at the pier where one of our team members will be waiting for you. Following a brief stop at the floating islands of Uros, you will reach Taquile around noon. Spend the entire day on the island learning about the local culture and traditions. Full board is provided. Overnight stay in a rural family-run B&B on the island. To get from Taquile’s pier to the B&B, you will need to walk a bit to overcome a height difference of about 150 meters. The walk is not difficult, but the altitude is around 4000 meters above sea level. This tour includes an overnight stay in a very simple B&B with an external WC. A bit of adaptability is required.

Peruresponsabile.com is managing a project on the island called “Yachay Ñan.” We have established a small library to enhance reading and comprehension skills, promoting the literacy process for the children living on the island.

Peru - We were in Peru for (unfortunately) only two weeks in September, purchased the flight no more than 2 weeks before and immediately contacted Peru Manager to plan our trip with our 11 year old son. We have always liked road trips and last minute trips, planned on site day by day by ourselves, but Peru has so many things to see with enormous distances that alone we would not have had enough time and we would have missed so many experiences that we have all experienced from first to last. We traveled from the coast to the Andes, every day in a different place, excluding Cusco where we spent 3 nights being centrally located to reach various wonders that absolutely should not be missed, we met exceptional people who proudly showed us the beauty and culture of this country. With Responsible Peru it was possible to do everything, with the maximum freedom to travel alone but with all travel and accommodation planned and organized to perfection. Our guides were all exceptional and highly trained, the accommodations far exceeded our expectations. The aspect that we liked most is the perception that was later confirmed, of traveling with an ethical organization that is sensitive to respect for places, people and the conservation of cultural and natural heritage, in short, the opposite of mass tourism which if on the one hand it brings economy, on the other it is destructive. Here, the experience that confirmed what was previously only a perception was the visit to the island of Taquile, a place where time has stopped but where you will find incredible humanity, made up of hospitality and small gestures full of meaning. We were guests of Cecilio's family, to whom I wish a thriving tourist hospitality business because he deserves it all, everyone was very nice, my son played chess with his, his wife and mother-in-law prepared a dinner for us that seemed more like a banquet , they showed us the whole island and all the activities on which their life is based, they made us feel at home. Absolutely highly recommended!

Excellent experience. - We met Peru by chance, in the sense that we got to them through acquaintances. I must say that right from the start (travel organisation) they proved to be very efficient, and this was also the case during our long trip (long because we did 23 days). Transfers - hotels - excursions and internal flights All organized to perfection. even the "guide misunderstanding" (that he only spoke Spanish and English) was resolved promptly. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to get to know Peru. Very well organized and serious. RATING 10.

Awesome! - The people of the villages on the islands of Lake Titicaca rotate host duties/opportunities. They were sweet and kind and happy to share their stories with us.
