Highlights
  • Lake Titicaca - Nestled between Peru and Bolivia, Lake Titicaca holds the title of the world’s highest navigable lake, inviting you to explore its waters.

  • Taquile Island - Renowned for its textile art, which UNESCO has recognized, Taquile boasts one of Peru’s most ancient craft traditions. The island’s men, women, and children all participate in creating these detailed textiles. During your visit, take a leisurely walk around the island to soak in its natural beauty. Additionally, embark on a short hike from Taquile Port to the main square, following an uphill path that takes about 30 minutes. Once at the Plaza, enjoy sweeping views of the island and the stunning Lake Titicaca.

  • Uros Floating Islands - Discover the Floating Islands by wandering through their intricate network. The ground beneath you, made of tightly woven totora reeds, offers a unique experience. Learn about the Construction: Locals will explain the traditional methods used to build and maintain these floating islands. Interact with the Locals: Engage with the Uros people to understand their lifestyle, customs, and the challenges they face. Take a Totora Reed Boat Ride: The Uros craft traditional boats, called “caballitos de totora” (reed boats), from the same material as the islands. Travelers can opt for a boat ride on Lake Titicaca (usually costing 20 soles per person, payable on the spot). Enjoy Scenic Views: The Uros Islands provide stunning vistas of Lake Titicaca and the surrounding Andean landscape.

Exploring Uros and Taquile Islands with Samuel - We had a great day with Samuel as our guide. It was fascinating to see the Uros and Taquile islands and learn about their unique cultures. Samuel was very kind and attentive and very knowledgeable about local plants, clothing, and customs. I especially appreciated his perspective given he is a local. The lunch at Taquile Island was also delicious, and we had a beautiful view. I would definitely recommend this tour and Samuel as a guide!

Great Tour! - The trip to Taquile Island was awesome. Our private guide Samuel hooked us up with an ocean view as we enjoyed our delicious home cooked meal. He was attentive and always ready to answer questions/point out interesting things. Seeing the Uros and how they lived was interesting as well. Finally, Samuel took us to pre-Inca burial sites. Great day overall highly recommend.

An Overall Wonderful Tour - Excellent tour and our guide, Giovanni , was fantastic and very descriptive. We enjoyed learning about the people, the history and the culture of the people floating islands and loved the people! It was a fascinating tour of how the people of Lake Titicaca live and maintain their heritage. The local weed boat from one island to the next was wonderful. The walk up to the town in Tequille was a bit challenging but rewarding. We enjoyed a dance and show in the plaza and captured the most scenic views. The lunch was also enjoyable. An overall wonderful tour.

Great Day with a Great Guide - Samual was a great guide and was always watching out for us. He told us all sorts of interesting things about the people living on the islands and their customs. On the trip up to the square on Tequile he took many breaks with enough time for us to get our breath back. He always had some information to share during those breaks. The trip up was worth it, the views from the top were amazing. We enjoyed all parts of this tour, the floating islands, Tequile, the lunch and the boat ride on the lake.

Great tour and awesome guides! - This was such a great tour! Samuel was a great guide and took a lot of time to explain different cultural aspects of the islands, as well as serve as a translator and guide while we were on the actual island. A lot of care was taken to make sure we knew what was going on at all times and that all of our questions were answered. It was very cool to see what life on Uros was like and get a demonstration of how they built the reed island. The food on Taquile Island was delicious and the long walk up to the main square was broken up by many explanations by Samuel about local plants and customs. The islands were relaxing to visit. We would recommend this company!

Fun Day on Lake Titicaca - This was a very nice tour of Uros and Taquile Island. I definitely recommend going out to Taquile as it is very different from Uros. The scenery was gorgeous, the dancing was fun and lunch was terrific. I am not sure I would call this a Speedboar as we went around 12 MPH but still a good day.
