Highlights
  • Flintstones Buggy Adventure - This amazing tour starts at a conveniently located ranch in the heart of Bavaro. All passengers will receive pre-tour instructions about the safety and operation of the vehicles. Guests will be driving their own automatic“caravan-style” buggy following the tour guide who will lead the group.

The “Flintstones Buggy Trail” has a length of 10 kilometers and takes you through a variety of vegetation and rock/hill-formations. The trial leads straight through the countryside where you can see donkeys, cows, horses, sheep and pigs!

After about 25 minutes of driving the tour has its first stop at a typical Dominican house and the local “colmado” (a small grocery store) where participants can taste some real Dominican coffee. Immerse yourself into the Dominican culture as you join locals from the countryside doing their daily shopping. No one will ask you to buy anything but if you need some food or local products you can take advantage as they of the really cheap prices!

Around 20 minutes later the tour will continue off-road and you will be surrounded with simply breathtaking views. You’ll travel past colorful houses and across the amazing landscape of banana plantations and farmland. This is the true Dominican Republic! Here the trail gets even more “rough” and “wild” and there are some spectacular views of the “cliffs” that have been formed over millions of years.

The tour continues until the arrival at the “Cave of Fantasy”! First we enter the cave and walk almost to the end through magnificent and huge illuminated stalactites and stalagmites.
This is not a public cave so it is accessible only to your tour. It is a 100% authentic experience! In the cave you will feel the bumps and uneven surface of the path. There have been minimum changes made to the cave so that it keeps its natural authenticity and beauty.

After exploring “Fantasy Cave”, you will go up the stairs to Bedrock City! Bedrock City is another group of caves that are located above the large cave, a rare combination and therefore, very unique! Why the name Bedrock City? Well, here you see the villa of Fred Flintstone, the garage with the Flintstone Mobile and much more.

After around 35 minutes spent inside the cave it will be time to go back. With the sun in your face and the wind in your hair, you will drive your open-air dune buggy back to the ranch. Here the guests will have the opportunity to buy the pictures from the excursion and other souvenirs or enjoy a Dominican-flavored drinks at the bar.

It was great, although we were not prepared for the trip, apparently there was an error with the reservation app. - It was very fun, the walk in the cave was very cool and interesting, the coffee was good although it was a little hot to drink it.

Good excursion - We enjoyed it. It was interesting to meet the people in the village. And that cave is amazing to walk through. It’s not long but that is what we were looking for.

Great mudding ! - We have been on this type of adventure with other companies as a couple which were enjoyable but this one with our daughter and granddaughter was the best buggying hands down. This one had some great mud puddles where you actually got dirty I mean dirty lol. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly and the gentleman running the operation was very patient and took the time to answer any questions you have. The cave tour can be difficult if you have ,mobility issues but the cave itself was interesting. The only thing missing was the beach visit which would add to both the experience and the cost. Overall great adventure.

Flinstones Buggy Adventure - A funny name for a differentiating adventure. - Overall a great experience. The tour operator promptly sent us an email after booking with the pickup time at our resort. They were perfectly on time. After arriving, the safety briefing was quick. It was a nice detour into the Dominican villages to experience the culture. The tour guide was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Just be sure to bring a bandana and good classes. 10/10 would recommend this event again. Pro tip - sit in the middle or forward of the truck when being picked up.

Flinstone Buggy must do - This tour is a must do. Great Value for the money. No major issues on the tour unless you are allergic to mud. The coffee stop was much appreciated, and likely the smoothest full bodied cup of Joe I've ever had. Thank the home owner on our behalf she had disappeared before we left or I most certainly would have done that myself. The only thing I have to say negative is the communication was a little slow. Didn't know we were to be picked up at the road of our hotel and delayed the other patrons on that bus by a bit. The photos taken on the tour by flintstone's were awful expensive. Had they been half that I believe someone including myself would have bought them.

I recommend it - Excellent. I loved the experience. It's a lot of fun and the staff is very attentive and professional. I like that they have photo options, the tours and the snack facilities after the tour. I recommend it.

Buckle up for a bumpy ride - We had an okay experience, it was very dry and did not get to experience any sort of muddy/wet terrain. The ride was extremely rough and bumpy the entire trip as you only travel on roads that are all rock. We did make the best of it and also enjoyed the cave experience.

False advertising leaves poor taste in our mouth! - We booked for 4 people and to our surprise, had to pay an extra $50 US when we arrived on site to have two biggies. This is false advertising as there was nothing about any of this when we booked. The photos were incredibly expensive and not worth it.
