Giza Pyramids and Sphinx Guided Tour: Discover Ancient Egypt's Rich History with Lunch Included

Embark on a guided tour of the Giza Pyramids and Sphinx, immersing yourself in the rich history of ancient Egypt. Enjoy a delicious lunch and optional camel ride in the desert.

Duration: 4 hours
Cancellation: 1 day learn more
Highlights
  • Pyramids of Giza - The tour begins at 8:00 am with a pickup from your hotel in either Cairo or Giza. Your guide will take you to the Giza Pyramids to start your half-day tour, where you’ll visit the Great Pyramids - Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos.

You have the option to explore the Pyramids from the inside or enjoy a camel ride around the great pyramids for an additional charge.

  • Giza Plateau - The Giza Plateau (Arabic: هضبة الجيزة‎) is located in Giza, on the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt. It is the site of the Fourth Dynasty Giza Necropolis, which includes the Great Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, the Sphinx, several cemeteries, a workers’ village, and an industrial complex.
  • Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The only completely preserved portrait of the king is a three-inch high ivory figurine found in a temple ruin of a later period at Abydos in 1903. All other reliefs and statues were found in fragments, and many buildings of Khufu are lost. Everything known about Khufu comes from inscriptions in his necropolis at Giza and later documents. For example, Khufu is the main character noted in the Westcar Papyrus from the 13th dynasty.
  • Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple yielded several statues of Khafre. Several were found in a well in the floor of the temple by Mariette in 1860. Others were found during successive excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.
  • Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once contained several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also yielded several statues of Menkaure.
  • Great Sphinx - Conclude your tour with a visit to the Valley Temple, where the priests mummified the body of King Chephren. Here, you’ll get a close-up view of the Sphinx - the legendary guardian with a lion’s body and the head of King Chephren. It’s a great spot to take amazing photos with the Sphinx in various fun poses, and your guide will assist you with this.

After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

A life time experience !!! - First of all I’m very hard to please nor impressed ! I was picked from my hotel , with a happy smiles , good energy , and quick coffee stop before my trip starts . The driver Ahmed was very kind and very sharp as I over payed by mistake for my coffee and he noticed and corrected the barista , which honestly touched my heart , straight away I didn’t feel like tourist I felt like local . When we arrived to the pyramids the star of the show Somaya , was so so patient with me so kind and highly knowledgeable and very educated about ancient history and pyramids . But what impressed me more her passion and her way to explains and educates you without getting bored nor tired . She constantly offers you water as is hot in Giza , she always check on you and if u genuinely okay ! And last but not the least is the pro photographer Hassan with eyes for details and good location to take life time memories … everything was perfect and beyond , worth every penny and more . Honesty thank you so so much guys you made my day and my trip ❤️🪬

Unforgettably Amazing Experience - Mohamed was an amazing tour guide! We toured the Giza pyramids, took a camel ride, ate lunch, and visited many shops. He was sure to explain the history and made sure that we had a great time! I’ll never forget riding in our van signing and dancing to the local music. It was an unforgettable and amazing experience. 10/10, I can’t wait to visit again.

Best guide Ahmed Hamed, Best Driver Mohamed - This is probably one of the best tour we have been, our guide Ahmed Hamed is extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. We learnt a lot about the pyramids and insights to ancient egyptian life. We are utterly impressed with Mohamed’s driving skill and the ability of his car boot to swallow our 2 of our huge luggage! Thumbs up!!!!

Perfect Tour. - Tour started on the scheduled time (i appreciate this a lot). Tour lasted a little bit more than four hours and was very informative. I was the only person on this tour. So it was like a private tour. My guide Ahmed Hamed spoke good english, i understood him well. He explained to me all the details about the pyramids and the sphinx, gave a good overview about the egyptian history (especially the development of the pyramids), made suggestions for other places of importance to visit. I booked the tour with lunch so i asked him to take me to a Restaurant where i can taste a typical egyptian meal. He led me to a Restaurant where i tasted koshery (a simpel but very delicious dish). All in all a wonderfull, pleasant tour. I enjoyed the tour very much. optional: with Camel ride: not booked. optional: with pyramid entry: not booked.
