You’ll be traversing the Barron Gorge National Park and Kuranda National Park in a 4WD vehicle. This outing is perfect for those pressed for time and seeking to avoid major crowds. With a limited group size of no more than 13, enjoy a personalized experience with your savvy guide while uncovering some of Tropical North Queensland’s lesser-known spots. The morning tour kicks off from Cairns, and the afternoon outing is from both Cairns & The Northern Beaches.
Unfortunately, the tour does not operate from Port Douglas, unless you can independently reach Cairns.

Good and recommend. - The trip is well organized and the driver(tour guild) is very experienced and explain the details of every sceneries. Very good trip!

Amazing tour - An amazing 4 wheel drive experience. Spectacular scenery, gorges, lookouts and driving through creek beds filled with water. Our tour guide James was great, his knowledge of the area was interesting to listen to and his hilarious "dad" jokes made this such a fun trip. Definitely recommend this tour.

Loved this tour!! - We had so much fun!! We came to Cairns for the snorkeling and booked this at the last minute when we had a free afternoon. We didn’t have high expectations but this ended up being the highlight of our trip! Absolutely breathtaking views and our guide, James/Jim, was the BEST!! He was so much fun and very informative. We learned a ton from him and he really made the tour so awesome. You can tell he genuinely loves his job. We all loved him!! Highly recommend this trip.

Fabulous rainforest! - The waterfall was stunning! Learning about the plants and the termite mounds! And we stopped in the middle of the water and listened to the water! The trees were amazing! Tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining!

Nice half day trip from Cairns - Did the half day tour with tour guide Steve. Was very enjoyable and informative despite the rainy weather - Steve adjusted the itinerary accordingly to ensure that we still got a full experience. Would definitely recommend especially if you find the full day trips exhausting as we do and like to take it a bit easier.

Fun & memorable tour! - We very much enjoyed our day with Daryl from Discovery Tours Australia! This was so very organized. From the moment Daryl picked us up at our hotel, he was so friendly, and very informative, with such a great personality! He added a lot of fun throughout our afternoon, being in the 4 wheel drive, and we could tell he really loves what he does. We learned so very much about this beautiful rain forest indeed! Such a great day, highly recommend this tour! Thank you

Great but unfortunately not full 4WD drive due to conditions - Great guide very knowledgeable and funny. Unfortunately one of the 3 sites we were going to was flooded and not accessible so we missed out on the full 4WD experience. Tablelands very different with 2 types of forest.
