Great Experience--Would Happily Book Again! - Had a wonderful time visiting ruins on a shore excursion. The instructions for pickup were clearly communicated and easy to follow. When our port times changed, they proactively let us know and suggested another itinerary to ensure we could have a great experience and get back on time. Our crew wanted to eat at an authentic stop, and they very happily accommodated that as well (and the food was stellar!). Loved having a guide to explain about the region on the way to the ruins and then provide information and point out things we would have missed at the ruins site. It was the perfect combination of information, guide, and time to explore.

Amazing Experience even in the face of adversity! - I did an amazing tour of the ruins with the best lunch ever with our guide Daniel. He was incredible! There ended up being a barricade and protest that was 100% out of his and the tour's control, but he handled everything beautifully. He walked us (even the people with limited mobility) across and made sure we were all safe. The tour itself was magical and I loved every minute. I learned so much. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour. It's not safe to just get a cab and drive around this area. You really need someone who knows the area and speaks the language (did I mention the barricade and protest?!). Daniel and his family has lived here for generations and gave a local and unique perspective. It was fantastic.

A Trip to a Distant Past in the Land of the Extant Maya People - My son and I were in a cruise and decided to use this company to go the Chacchoben ruins, but the farmers in the area were stopping buses to in protest for not getting money from the tour operators. So, they took us to the closer Kohunlich ruins instead. This was a great taste of ruins seeing. In the future I will go to Copan and the bigger Mayan cities. Nevertheless, this was a great tour that had a very nice lady explaining the local traditions and culture. We had a delicious lunch in the house of a local lady, and we help to make our own tortillas. The ruins guides were very knowledgeable and nice. Always making sure that we were hydrated. It is hot and humid here! And we were there on January 1st! Overall, great experience for the Americans that were in the tour. Special people really.

Worth doing it - We booked this tour through our ship. It is 2 hour journey each way from shore to the ruins. We had a huge air conditioned bus that included a light snack to the ruins and another light lunch at the end of the tour of the ruins. Our guide is incredibly knowledgeable about the history and area. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
