Villa Rufolo - Villa Rufolo is the crown jewel of Ravello’s vast historical and architectural heritage. Named after the family who built it, this monumental complex once boasted “more rooms than there are days in the year” during its 13th-century peak. Although time and neglect have taken their toll, much has been restored, thanks in part to the efforts of Scottish entrepreneur Francis Nevile Reid in the early 20th century. Over ten centuries, the original core—a blend of Arabic, Sicilian, and Norman architecture—has been enhanced with new features, from an 18th-century cloister to Romantic 19th-century gardens. Today, it is used by the Fondazione Ravello and the Ravello Festival.

Villa Cimbrone Gardens - The gardens of Villa Cimbrone are breathtakingly beautiful, filled with “the most beautiful imaginable flowers.” Redesigned in the early 20th century with the help of English gardener Vita Sackville-West, they are among the most important examples of English landscape and botany culture in Southern Europe. Influenced by classical literature and the Roman villa, the gardens feature impressive decorative elements from around the world, including fountains, nymphaea, statues, small temples, and pavilions. The gardens often hosted gatherings of the prestigious Bloomsbury Group, who found inspiration in Villa Cimbrone.
