Additional Information

This excursion provides an exciting chance to explore ITALIAN CULINARY DELIGHTS. Gain a comprehensive understanding of the production process of Parmigiano Reggiano, from the dairy cattle to the sampling, going through the curdling stage, wheel formation, and onto the storage for aging where countless cheese wheels repose! The guided tour through a Prosciutto production facility, concluding with a generous tasting, is equally captivating.

In this place, Balsamic Vinegar is referred to as ‘Black Gold’ owing to its painstakingly long and patient processing for at least 12 years until it is deemed ready! Your tour concludes with a sampling of three differently aged balsamic vinegars.

Wine making plays a significant role in this region: the tour begins with a guided walk-through of the private Museum of Wine Traditions, leads on to the cellars where bottles are currently stored, and wraps up with a tasting of 3 distinct wines.

Satiated and content. - This was one of the best tours we have ever taken. It was expensive but worth it. Ricardo was our driver and he was amazing. He did not rush us and added so much information about the area. We highly recommend this tour and Ricardo.

Eat and drink all day! - We took the train from Florence and the driver met us outside the Bologna station. Note.. the driver is a driver..not a guide. Do not expect conversation during the ride between places. Most of the tour was in the Modena region. All family owned businesses where you get to meet the owners! First was prosciutto, then balsamic, then Parmesan then wine. Eating all day! Be sure to wear shoes with tread for wet floors and farm terrain. This is a must for foodies who like to see origin of fine foods.

Experiencing so much more. - My wife and I had such a wonderful day. Not to diminish the start of the day but it just kept on getting better and better as the day went on. Every host was incredibly knowledgeable and we learned so much about some of the most amazing culinary items this world has to offer.

A favorite! - The entire day was awesome despite the awful rain. It as fun seeing how the Parmesan is made. The balsamic process was surprising and the lunch at the prosciutto factory was off the charts. I loved the ravioli but all of the food and the wine was wonderful. Learning the prosciutto process was fascinating and Gary did a great job of hosting our tour and lunch. This was a favorite for our husbands.

The best experience we have had in Italy - Our driver Guissepi was fantastic and very friendly and helpful. We loved every part of this tour but the highlight would have to be the last place that make and sell the prosciutto. Absolutely gobsmacked at the volume and quality of their product. Garry and Valentina were both welcoming and Valentina knowledge of every process and the family business was outstanding. Highly recommend this complete day tour! Just a tip, you will not need dinner!

Our driver was friendly and excellent and the guides at each stop were incredibly knowledgable, friendly, and passionate about what they do. Learning about the history and process of parmesan, wine, balsamic vinegar, and prosciutto was an incredible experience. Fabulous food tasting - This was a terrific day- learned and ate delicious parmigiana. Had a fabulous lunch after tasting the different balsamic from Modena and was lucky enough to have Gary, the owners son, give us a tour and education of prosciutto- then we were able to taste the different kinds and appreciate them and the process
