Additional Information

The ancient town of Monsaraz, seized by the Moors in 1167, exhibits typical cobbled lanes and homes adorned in a traditional whitewash. Encircled by fortifications, it has been hailed as one of Portugal’s 7 Wonders in the Monument Villages category, boasting an abundance of local skilled crafts such as weaving, Alentejo blankets, ceramics and creations from cork, metal and wrought iron.

Situated at the core of the Alentejo, Évora is often referred to as a ‘city museum’. Its historic heart is recognized as a Unesco World Heritage site. The city’s ramparts encompass streets and structures rich in history and culture, which have largely remained unaltered throughout the ages.
