Highlights
  • Thingvellir National Park - The tour starts with a stop in Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site listing and the birthplace of the oldest existing parliament in the world. This is also where the gigantic tectonic plates of America and Eurasia have pulled apart and the resulting rift valley is right there before your eyes on the shores of Iceland’s biggest lake.
  • Strokkur - The next stop is one of Iceland’s most iconic natural wonders: Geysir Hot Springs, the home of the one-and-only original geyser. Here the ground trembles and steaming hot water spouts spectacularly skywards from the famous Strokkur Geyser every few minutes.
  • Gullfoss Waterfall - Now for a leisurely walk down to Gullfoss Waterfall, which is an impressive sight to behold. Here a powerful glacial river cascades down 32 meters on two levels and into a narrow canyon with a thunderous roar.
  • Reykjavik Terminal - After the tour, the coach will head back to Reykjavík. You will be dropped off at the same place you were picked up for this tour.

Golden Circle Tour - Did the Golden Circle tour and it was great, despite being rainy and foggy. The sights are spectacular, the tour well organised and our guide (Ziggy Olafson) was superb. We weren't provided with audio headsets due to a technical error but Ziggy did the job perfectly. Learned so much interesting information in a very comfortable environment. We departed at 10am (in late Dec) and it was good timing for the light (we drove back into the sunset). More info on how the bus pickup system works would have been good, but we had no problems. Definitely recommend 👍

Best way to start! - I wanted to find an afternoon tour that packed a lot since I was arriving in Reykjavik at 6am. This tour was perfect. The pick was at 11:30 and we didn't get back to the city until after 6pm. The guide and driver were wonderful, funny and engaging. The bus was large and very comfortable with wide windows which allowed for great viewing. I loved the touch screen audio as it allowed you to start, pause and go back at your convenience. You can't miss with this tour and I highly recommend it.

Great views and great guide! - We had a limited amount of time, so we chose the afternoon trip to the Golden Circle. It was supposed to include tablets for the audio guide, but it was a busy day (meaning all the tablets were in use) so our driver took charge as a live guide. Personally, we always prefer a live guide, but it wasn't an option for the afternoon tour. Thor was great and knew so many details about the local area and the sightseeing spots. He answered all questions with ease and was very organized about gathering everyone up again at the stops. The stops themselves were gorgeous, especially as we were in Iceland just after a snow storm. It was a winter wonderland of landscapes and waterfalls!

Golden circle and Northern lights tour - So we had a tour from another company booked days in advance but they cancelled the tour. So we grabbed a book and started looking for a tour that was similar to the one we booked. Found it and it was wonderful! I believe our guides name was Hilda. I apologize if I got it wrong, but she was very sweet and tried to keep people together and on time! Bus arrived on time, and comfortable coach, the audio guides were fine, we did bring our own headphones. I know there was an option to buy them, but the brochure is clear in bring or buy. I also greatly appreciate that it was blistering cold and at every asked chance she took off her gloves to take pictures. Which was very NICE. As few people would..haha Our Northern lights tour portion was cancelled for the evening due to the weather and poor visibility, but I am told we can reschedule for other nights. Which is very accommodating. I highly recommend this tour! It fit in perfectly with what we needed and our guides sense of humor and adventure made it that more memorable! Thanks for being there when other companies weren't! It saved our day!!

Loved this trip! - Great tour of the Golden Circle and the tablet allowed for insights into the history of each area visited. Haukur was also a great host adding to the overall experience of the day. Highly recommend this tour group!

Great Tour, Very Punctual - This tour was part of a package we booked through Secret Escapes and it did not disappoint! The bus always departed on time and our guide named Cola was very helpful and informative. The tour duration is about 8 hours and we visited the main sights in the Golden Circle. In December there is only about 5 hours of day light but the way the tour is timed meant that we would be able to see all the sights in day light. We had fantastic weather which made all the difference. We really enjoyed this tour and we recommend it to most age groups. The only downside was that everyone was promised a Touch-Screen Multi-Language Audio Guide but there weren't enough tablets for everyone. It also stated online that there are USB ports on board so you can charge your devices, however, none of them worked. So if you're relying on that it is best to bring an extra battery pack just in case. Other than that we had a great time and would use this company again in the future.

Great tour - This was a great tour with really useful information. The guide - Emilia was really funny and she gave us planty of info about Rekjavik and the places that we hve visited. They also give you a tablet that is gps based and as the bus follows its way, you receive extra info. They mention when you book the tour to bring your own headphones but they don’t mention that Iphone headphones are not supported. You cand buy headphones on board with 1000 isk. All in all, don’t miss this tour if you want to see the best nature wonders in Iceland.
