Additional Information

The North Star (or aurora) are possibly the most sought-after sights that attract travellers to Iceland. This breathtaking celestial dance takes place high up in earth’s stratosphere due to a clash between solar winds and earth’s magnetic field. Our Aurora team tirelessly works during the day, monitoring weather forecasts to accurately predict a spot where you get the best view of the lights. We visit different locations daily, opting for the place with the highest probability of Aurora sightings. As the tour hinges on weather conditions and there’s no guaranteed sighting, you can participate in another Aurora tour for free.

Magnificent Aurora Tour - After a couple of postponements due to poor visibility, the wait was more than worth it! Our guide Zac was amazing and his expertise in locating where the best chance to see the Aurora was outstanding. We were absolutely blown away and it was mostly down to our guide Zacs expertise who spotted the aurora before it really began to be seen. This was an unforgettable experience and one we will cherish forever. Thanks to excellent communications from the operator and of course our exceptional guide Zac! James & Nicola

Amazing northern lights - Our tour guide was amazing. We saw loads of lights and she went out of her way to give us some great sights. We were given a lovely hot chocolate drink and could go back on the bus if we needed to re warm up again!

Second time lucky - Guide was really good and drove us to 3 separate locations but unfortunately no luck seeing the lights. We were able to book again on the following night. We had the option for free try in the classic tour or pay extra (50%) for another small group tour. We decided to go with the classic and we’re lucky enough to see the lights

A great adventure - Set off at 9:30 in a small minibus. This was perfect as it was a windy night and the larger buses couldn’t go over the hills to the national park. The stars appeared and after a couple of stops our driver found a great place to view the lights. The lights were great but the adventure of driving to find them was equally good fun. You could jump back into the minibus to warm up whenever you wanted to. Expert advice and even hot chocolate to warm us through.

Excellent! - First of all, our tour guide was fantastic. He was friendly and knowledgeable, and really made an effort to make sure we had a great experience. We were very lucky to get to see the aurora in two different locations, and it was spectacular. Our guide helped us with our phone settings, alerted us as to when the aurora activity was picking up, and tracked the cloud cover to make sure we were in clear viewing areas. The tour booking, pickup, and shuttle bus were all great. The shuttle bus has wifi and a usb ports available at every seat to charge your phone. The hot chocolate was a lovely detail, too. We were lucky to go out on a perfect night, but our tour guide made sure we got the most out of the opportunity.

Northern Lights - Guide was amazing, so friendly and accommodating tried desperately to show us the Northern Lights but unsuccessful 🥲 only draw back was we didn’t receive our hot chocolate even though it was included in the price and the guide announced we would be receiving it ??

There were no hot drinks... - There were no hot drinks and we had to wait in the bus for 20 minutes for another group of people to transfer to our bus. The bus stuck in the ice for 1 hour and we had to wait outside and then we skipped the first location and went to the 2nd location. Waited for about 40 minutes for a tiny bit of light that the real eyes couldn’t see. Don’t feel it’s worth it to spend 4 hours at midnight in a freezing cold weather to see a tiny bit of lights for 5 minutes.

Very mixed experience - Sorry but the driver's driving ruined my tour. Small group in a minibus, with a driver who was busy sitting with his head out of the side window, or with his head all the way up in the windshield, because as he said; I look for stars in the sky - because that's where the northern lights are. This, in turn, meant that his driving seemed uncertain, wobbly, with rapid acceleration and hard braking, while at the same time he was communicating via SMS with other bus drivers about where the Northern Lights could possibly be seen. On the other hand, he certainly knew a lot about the northern lights, the chemistry and the effects. After just over 5 hours we landed back in Reykjavik and were dropped off - unfortunately without having seen the northern lights.
