Highlights
- Gjain - Amazing oasis at the roots of Iceland highlands, with small waterfalls and an old farm. Game of Thrones shooting location.
We will walk to the Old farm and into the Gjáin oasis. The walk is around 500 meters each way. Outdoor shoes are recommended when exploring Gjáin oasis.
- Haifoss - One of Iceland’s highest waterfalls, with an amazing view into the valley of Þjórsárdalur. We will drive up the rocky gravel roads leading to the Háifoss waterfall. After we reach the parking we will walk towards the viewpoint and take in this epic natural beauty.
- Hrauneyjar - Lunch stop at Hrauneyjar highland center.
- Sigoldufoss - Small but often very blue waterfall at the entrance to the Iceland Highlands. We will explore for a short time before we continue our journey.
- Sigöldugljúfur - Valley of tears, an amazing canyon with series of small waterfalls, with the water often being green-blue, is one of Iceland’s best-hidden photography locations. Where we will explore the canyon from above and bask in the beauty of this place.
- Volcano Hekla - We will explore the desolated area around Volcano Hekla, from safe distance

Amazing tour - the beauty of Iceland! - This tour was fantastic and Thor is a wonderful guide! Everything about this tour was perfect! This is our 3rd trip to Iceland and we just can’t get enough. Seeing these waterfalls close up and off the beaten path is amazing. I highly recommend this tour — a must see!

It’s was a really great... - It’s was a really great trip and experience. We saw a lot of beautiful waterfalls. We got to drive close and didn’t have to walk too far to see the waterfalls. The guide was very knowledgeable.

A Great Iceland Experience! - This small-group tour with Thor was one to remember! Thor answered our questions, gave us lots of different facts about Iceland, and provided lots of humor and jokes. He took us to different spots that I believe no tour bus could, including so many beautiful waterfalls! This was a memorable tour that I would recommend to anyone.

An Amazing Tour! - Thor was an excellent guide. He took us to places even other Icelanders we’re not aware of. He was also very friendly and knowledgable. He entertained us during the drive with local lore and helping us speak the local language. A++

Great day out with a local expert - Brilliant day out with Thor. He took the time to figure out what we wanted to do and allowed plenty of time for photographs. He made us feel very special, i would really recommend.

A must do adventure - Thor was an amazinging, knowledgeable and skilled guide and really added something special to an already great time. We were able to access specific areas of some of the locations that many would not be able to get to. If seeing some of Icelands breathtaking scenery and waterfalls is on your wish list you need to book this experience.

Best Tour in Iceland! - I’ve been to Iceland three times in the past five years and have done quite a few destinations listed in Viator, however this tour with Thor has been the absolute best! A lot of the destinations near Reykjavik and south Iceland are overrun with tourists, so it’s difficult to get nice pictures without a million people in the way. Thor takes you places where there are very few tourists and in some cases our small group of five people were the only ones there. This is a part of Iceland I haven’t seen before on social media, so you’ll have to book the tour to find out where Thor takes you. If you have another tour booked when this one is available, cancel that tour and take this one. You will not be disappointed!

A wonderful trip. - A wonderful trip. Thor was an excellent guide and took us to areas of Iceland that we had not previously visited. We would thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone who has a love of amazing scenery and the fun of being taken on roads that are no more than tracks through the landscape.

One of a Kind Tour - It will be the one you talk about - This tour was so worth it! Thor brought us to places that we could of never went by SUV or found by ourselves. I would suggest suggest booking this early in your trip because the information that Thor provides is amazing. This is by far the best tour I have ever gone on. I would use him for any tour of Iceland. Or hire him to be a personal tour guide for a family that is traveling around. Very personable, funny as heck, kind, respectful, and so knowledgeable. A+++
