Embark on a small-group day trip from Reykjavik to explore the stunning South Shore of Iceland. Discover majestic waterfalls, a glacier, black sand beaches, and more!
Duration: 11 hours

Highlights
  • Seljalandsfoss - Then turn back west along the coastal road at the foot of Eyjafjallajokull volcano and make a stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall. This beautiful column of water tumbles off the cliffs and you have the possibility of walking around behind the falls and through the spray, so be sure to bring your waterproofs, as you might get wet. This is saved this stop for last, as getting wet at the end of the day is much better than starting the day wet.

MUST SEE South Shore tour with Monica - Yesterday-June 10th, we took this tour with Monica. It was one of the most interesting, fact filled + scenic days ever! Monica is high energy, good vibes, super informative and even plays Icelandic music enroute! We got the most INCREDIBLE photos + video of a glacier, waterfalls + locations where Game of Thrones was filmed. I would give this your 6 stars if I could!

Grand landscape and fun facts in excellent company - Our guide Almar made this incredibly scenic tour a warm, fun and engaging day. The list of stops listed here may seem unimpressive but it is in reality more than generous – many smaller stops and photo occasions encountered along the way aren’t accounted for and the landscapes driven through are breathtaking even on a cloudy and/or rainy day. Perhaps even moreso!

Super South coast - Such a good day! Our tour guide (I think his name was Hillar) was wonderful! He was engaging with great stories and anecdotes. Even though it was a bit cold and murky the bus was warm and comfortable and the sights were so beautiful!

Great scenery, great guide - First, what an amazing place Iceland is. And Reykjavik, which seems to get no love from most commenters, was surprisingly quaint and fun (at least in the harbor area where we stayed). More to the point, my two adult daughters and I went on this tour with pretty high expectations, and still managed to be absolutely blown away by the scenery and our tour guide, Devin. As for the scenery, the best way to explain it is that we found ourselves on multiple occasions looking at vistas that seemed almost digitally-created or enhanced. Like living a Game of Thrones episode, uniformly harsh but beautiful. Waterfalls, glaciers, gorgeous beaches with huge waves, stunning rock formations. And tour guide Devin masterfully orchestrated this long day with pacing that was perfect (meaning length of stops, breaks, etc). He's an Arizonan that recently emigrated to Iceland, and has clearly fallen in love with the place. We appreciated his objective, outsider's view on all things Iceland, and his grasp of the history, the terrain, the general science, the culture, was incredibly comprehensive. Just a good, friendly, comfortable guy to spend a day with. We went on other tours while there, with guides that were effectively bus-drivers. We will do Iceland again, and we will do everything in our power to get Devin and EastWest Tours (I think I have that right), when we do so. Thanks Devin.

Great trip to the south coast - Trip was great, explored all of the main areas of the south coast, even if the weather against us. Tour guide was very chatty and friendly. Made the trip very enjoyable. Plenty of stops for food, drinks and toilets. Would recommend people to go on this. However our minibus did not have Wi-Fi or chargers so be prepared in case.

A disappointing tour on Iceland - We were picked up in a minibus by a guide named Sulton who comes from India. He did not know the history of Iceland or the culture. The charge for each one of us was twice the price advertised here. He did not have a planned day for us and we never stopped for lunch(as advertised). Iceland Horizon tours or Saga Iceland tours were very disappointing.
