Additional Information

Begin with a leisurely walk around the heart of Reykjavik, guided by an Entertainment Service Officer who is here to amuse the troops, along with yourself.

Using historical films and images, travel back in time to explore why the Nazis were so interested in Iceland, why the British chose to invade, why the Americans followed suit, and how Icelandic culture was affected by foreign influences.

Next, drive to the remnants of fortifications before visiting The War & Peace Museum, located on the picturesque banks of Hvalfjordur (Whale fjord), which was the most crucial harbor in the North Atlantic during WW2.

Afterwards, enjoy the breathtaking scenery as you visit sites like the oldest still-operational quonset hut (1942 American barracks), and the ruins of the bases at Hvammsvik and Hvitanes, before returning to Reykjavik.

Lovely trip with amazing guide - Such an enjoyable tour! My guide Lucky knows so many interesting stories to tell and places to show you. Even better is the fact that she really knows how to bring it in an enthusiastic way, what things really keep entertaining. You can tell she has a great passion for the subject and keeping you entertained. The oranges she handed out were delicious as well. Ask her anything, and she immediately knows. In case I go back to Iceland, I would defintely book a trip with her again!
