Highlights
  • Initially a group of humble fishing hamlets, the stunning Amalfi Coast of Italy has evolved into a supreme travel hotspot of worldwide renown. However, increased popularity often entails complex issues. The coast is battling challenges such as extensive vehicular presence, crippling congestion, inadequate parking facilities, and nightmare-inducing twisting roads that render bi-directional commuting a horror.

The day tour starting from Rome allows travelers to make smart choices by not compromising on ease and opulence. By opting for high-speed train travels, you enjoy additional leg space, complimentary refreshments, and halve your travel duration. Your adventure commences the moment you step off the train and onto the wharf.

  • Your guide will accompany your close-knit group from the train to the ferry. Relish a one-hour boat ride from Salerno to Positano, the once humble fishing settlement now bestowed with a UNESCO World Heritage status and frequented by the global upper crust. Reaching Positano, the crown jewel of the Amalfi Coast, you have the option to take a morning dip or tour the numerous upscale boutiques and local artisan shops, post which you can indulge in a slow-paced lunch before getting back onto the pier for a brief journey to our subsequent pit-stop, the vibrant town of Amalfi.

Amalfi, the lively town from which the breathtaking coast derives its name, bustles with vibrant shops, fantastic restaurants, and beaches. The town makes for an excellent backdrop for memorable pictures. Your guide will then take you on a quick orientation walk, showcasing the iconic cathedral from the 11th-century and allow a tasting session of the aromatic limoncello at a local store, post which you can bask in your leisure time either exploring, shopping, or soaking the sun at the beach.

  • Departing from Amalfi, engage in a brief sail back to Salerno, absorbing distinctive panoramas of the townships of Minori, Maiori, Cetara, and Ravello from the sea. Your guide will be with you, escorting you from the pier to the station (a stone’s throw away) to ensure your punctual return to Rome.

Amazing Amalfi - This tour exceeded expectations! Meeting point easy to find at Rome Termini. We met the tour representative who provided tickets and instruction, getting us on the train to Salerno. At Salerno, we were met by our tour guide, Georgio who organized our group to get on the ferry boat for the Amalfi journey There was not assigned seating on the boat, and Georgio sought out each of us, to provide information about the sites and tour details, keeping us together and informed. The first stop was Positano, followed by Amalfi. There was ample time at each area and a good mix of time with the tour guide, and personal time. Georgia was very knowledgeable and friendly. He got us on the train to return to Rome without issue and everyone understood his direction! Highly recommend this tour!!

Great day! - The trip was well organized except for the ten min window to run from train station to the boat in Salerno. It was not easy carrying kids, and having to walk really fast. Overall, a great experience with a dedicated tour guide Mauro who gave great advice from where to sit on the boat and where to have an awesome lunch. He made sure we had the best time and that we didn’t get lost. He even Stayed with us when the return train was delayed 20 mins to ensure we ended up on the right train. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing Day, Amazing Host! - We got to the train station in Rome and our host was there where she said she would be, at the time she said she would be! After giving us each our train tickets, she we walked us to the track and then each (3 Parties) to their respected cars. After our 1 1/2 hour train ride and and 1 stop, we made it to Salermo and met our host (NOT a guide) for the day, Mauro. He was very knowledgable, entertaining and interesting. Our train was 10 minutes late and we had a tight connection so we all took a briskful walk to the port. Mauro had called the Captain and ask to hold the ferry for us. We stopped in Almalfi and let some passengers off and contuined to our stop in Positano. We only had a short time there, but time to walk a bit and do some shopping, about an hour. We will definately return to this beautiful Italian town! You must keep in mind these destinantions are quite far from Rome and to do them in a day, we had to be kept on schedule. Also Mauro is NOT a Tour Guide. He was there to get us to point A,B & C. Both places are self guided and both of these facts are clearly noted in the description. The next stop was Amalfi where we had lunch at a delious restrarant that Mauro reccommended. We the walked the beautiful town, kore shopping and drinking and made it back to the ferry in the 3 1/2 hours we were alotted. Ferry back tp Salermo, leisurly stroll back to the train and Mauro waiting with us until the train arrived and we had all boarded. It was definitely worth the money. Italia Tours took all the thinking out of it so we could sit back and take it all in. Thank you Mauro, we wish you all the best in the future, you were truly a pleasure to spend our day with! Great day! - Very instructions to follow at the train terminal meeting point in Rome and Salerno. It was a very busy day for the ferry and the city but our guide, Malo, made sure we were always together and ensured we boarded the correct train back to Rome. He even took us on a little limoncello tasting!

Amalfi is story-book beautiful! - Mauro was an excellent guide! The train ride is 1.5 hours each way. We weren’t able to go to Positano as the boat canceled due to rough seas. We spent the entire day in Amalfi. It was story-book beautiful! The first level of the town has a lovely but crowded beach and lots of shops. The Cathedral is worth a visit. If you want a view from a higher location be prepared to climb tons of steep steps. The food is delicious. Also bathrooms are scarce and not very clean unless you’re lucky to use the bathroom of the restaurant that you eat at.

Amalfi Coast - A great day trip to the Amalfi Coast We were met at the train station and then in Salerno. Our guide was great - I forget his name, but he lived in Pompeii. He got us to the ferry and talked to us about what we were seeing along the coast. We stopped in Positano first, had a nice lunch then to Amalfi. The group did a little tour through Amalfi, but our group ( 3 adults 3 kids) went to the beach, we rented umbrellas, ordered drinks and snacks and swam in the Mediterranean. It was wonderful. Did a little shopping and got a lemon delight dessert with some cannolis to share. Delicious! When we got back to the train station, our train was running quite late and our guide stayed with us until it arrived. I would definitely do this again but I would like to stay a couple days!

Beautiful Amalfi Coast! - Mauro our tour guide was wonderful! The tour was fun and exciting! I wish we had more time in Positano. A map would’ve been helpful especially for us first timers. It would’ve been also nice to see Ravello. But overall, wonderful!
