Highlights
  • Galleria Borghese - Cardinal Scipione Borghese commissioned both the Villa Borghese itself and many of the great works still on display in its gallery. Works by Bernini, Caravaggio and Titian remain in their original settings, as envisioned by the Cardinal, a fiercely determined collector.

Strictly controlled entry to the Villa and Gallery can make booking difficult and complicated. This package lets you avoid the organizing and even skip the line to get in when you arrive.

On this fully-guided tour you’ll hear more about Cardinal Borghese’s quest to complete his collection, and the stories behind the artworks themselves, including Bernini’s ‘Apollo and Daphne’, Canova’s ‘Pauline Bonaparte’, Caravaggio’s ‘St. Jerome’ and Raphael’s ‘The Deposition’. Your guide will be an English-speaker and an expert on the collection, and audio headsets ensure you’ll hear every word they say.

  • Villa Borghese Gardens - Included in this tour is a visit to the Borghese Gardens: once the Cardinal’s private park, now a favorite spot for locals to relax among sculptures, plants and water features and get away from it all.

Excellent Tour - Excellent guide who loved the art we saw. He included a little walk through the gardens. Sad that the second floor was under renovation.

Borghese Gallery should be a “must visit” for anyone visiting Rome. - We had a very nice tour of the gallery with Guido providing excellent commentary and historical references. We were a bit disappointed that half the gallery was closed for renovations, but our entrance ticket allowed us to also visit the Barberini Gallery where most of the art had been transferred to (10 to 15 minute walk). What were still able to see in the Borghese Gallery was stunning. We would highly reccomend this visit and our tour guide, Guido.

Great tour - This tour was great! We wanted to visit the Borghese Gallery but the site's tickets were sold out and decided to book this guided tour- it was worth it! Our guide was very well informed about the artworks and we did some close looking at many Bernini and Caravaggio works (and others)- we learned a lot more than we would have if we were just there by ourselves; the context provided was fantastic. One critique- the tour description says that the tour will continue into the gardens and end at the Piazza del Popolo- it didn't. We just ended outside the Gallery, which was totally fine, but the instructions should perhaps be updated. (Note for those looking for summer 2024- the 2nd floor is closed for renovation (which we knew) but some works have been moved to the Palazzo Barberini, which you can get into with your ticket from the Borghese- nothing to do with the quality of the guided tour but wanted to flag)

I would do it again - Sal was our tour guide and he was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the museum and the artists. Sal pointed out details that I would have missed had I have gone alone. The headset was great and made it easy to listen to Sal while looking at all the different pieces in the room.

Interesting art experience - Wonder experience! Highly recommend! We had an amazing time as this was our first time in Rome. The museum is great but the garden is worth a whole to explore. Lots to do and see

Wonderful! Must see! - Amazing! Our guide, Alex, made this one of our most enjoyable tours in Rome. She was so polite, fun, and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend using a guided tour. The Borghese is less crowded than other museums, which was refreshing. Also the location was one of our favorites. After the tour we rented hikes and spent the afternoon exploring Villa Borghese.

More than a tour, a magical experience - Visiting Villa Borghese in Rome was unforgettable, thanks to our fantastic guide, Fabio. He is one of the best guides I've ever met—knowledgeable, passionate, and empathetic. Fabio's storytelling turns the tour into a magical experience, engaging everyone and bringing history to life. His enthusiasm and ability to connect with the audience make the visit both educational and enjoyable.

Too Expensive. Guide was good. - The explanations. History. Tour was much too expensive. Timed entry was about $18. Expected a lot more for $75. Ending point was listed incorrectly.
