Constructed in 135 AD as a tomb for Emperor Hadrian, this edifice plays a significant role in Rome’s architectural narrative. Ascend the winding ramp to get to the Hall of Urns, where Hadrian’s ashes were kept. Proceed to the Papal Residence erected by Pope Paul III. Discover the historical significance of each room while admiring the interior artwork, including 15th-century frescoes and revered grotesques. Visit the courtyard, once the site of executions, and end on a terrace, providing a splendid city view. Don’t forget to bring your camera!

Incredible history - We had the pleasure of doing this tour yesterday with the lovely Virginia. Her knowledge of the history of Castel Sant'Angelo was excellent and she shared that knowledge with great enthusiasm that made the tour very interesting and enjoyable. The structure of the castle is very unique and great to wander with incredible views over Rome from the top.

Unexpected gem of a tour - Virginia was an awesome tour guide. We really didn’t know what to expect on this tour as it was a last minute add and didn’t know anything about the site. I would highly recommend this as a tour to learn about the history and where two points in history really come together. Virginia was probably one of the best guides we were with all week.

Excellent tour - I booked several tours whilst in Rome for a few days, and this was definitely one of the best. Virginia was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and engaging. I would certainly recommend.

Terrific guide - I took this tour after visiting Vatican Museums. Castel Sant'Angelo is just in front of Saint Peter's Basilica, so no need to cross the city.
I did not imagine it was so reach of history! The guide was terrific. 2hours passed very fast as it all that he told us was very interesting. Really worthy the price.

More than expected! - Really enjoyed this tour! The guide was very knowledgeable. He was able to bring history of the Castle to life, through interesting stories easy to be followed. There was more than I ever expected! Not to be missed. Also, from the terrace, the view of the city is amazing!
Would recommend it to anyone visiting Rome.
