Trastevere is a highly cherished part of the city! This culinary and exploratory walk, spanning 2.5 hours, commences from Tiberine Island. The area is a maze of narrow pathways, quaint stores, and various types of dining establishments - it carries the name meaning ‘beyond the Tiber’ - and is home to numerous historic places too. For instance, Piazza Trilussa, named after an esteemed Roman poet, the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere, believed to be Rome’s first Christian church, and many others. Undeniably, local cuisine forms the dominant theme of this tour, given that Trastevere boasts both traditional Roman fast food joints and restaurants.

Fantastic tour and really great food! - Luca our guide was exceptional! He was engaging, friendly and a wonderful guide. Above all he took very good care of the group. It was a blisteringly, hot day so he took us at a very gentle pace around Trastevere and pointed out every public water fountain we passed (of which there were many), encouraging us all to fill up our water bottles and splash water on ourselves to cool down.
The tour is very good and the food we tried on the stops was wonderful, literally the best pizza I have ever had! Luca introduced us to suppli and we ordered it for the rest of our stay in Rome.

Don't miss this one1 - We enjoyed this tour very much. Our guide was knowledgeable and interesting to listen too, funny and nice. We visited some great places that we would have never seen otherwise and the bakery we went too had the best cannoli's I had ever had. The Supli was my favorite along with the Italian beer. I highly recommend this tour for your family. It also gave a wonderful glimpse into Trastevere and how charming it was.

Local food and history combined. Great fun. - Luca was previously a chef and gave us the opportunity to try several examples of local food and drink, combing it with a commentary on the history of Trastevere.
He has a good sense of humour and the whole experience was great fun. Thanks Luca.
