Highlights

Collect your bike between 10am and 12pm from our base in Ash Ridge Wines’ vineyard. Then, clip on your helmet, hop into the saddle and peddle through the New Zealand countryside to begin your independent cycling tour.

With your winery map to hand, follow flat, winding routes through the heart of the Hawke’s Bay wine region. Along the way, visit the wineries that appeal to you and discover the diverse range of wines with a wine tasting (own expense).

Perhaps you will visit wineries* such as Paritua Vineyard, Sileni Wines, Alpha Domus, Oak Estate, Ash Ridge Wines, Trinity Hill Unison Vineyard or Stonecroft. Depending on how many wineries you visit — and how long you stay — your tour will likely take between four and six hours. You can enjoy a quick lunch (own expense) overlooking vines at Sileni WInes, Ash Ridge, Trinity Hill, Unison or Oak Estate before meandering onto the next winery.

With roadside support to help if you have any difficulties — such as a flat tyre — and to collect any wine that you purchase from the wineries (summer season only), you’re free to relax and enjoy your day.

At the end of your ride, return your bike to your starting point on or before 4pm to bring your tour to an end.

*Not all wineries are open every week day. All are open on weekends.

E-bike and Wineries Ride - Most enjoyable bike ride, great scenery, quiet, peaceful, little traffic and on top of all that there was wine. Bikes were perfectly adequate for the flat terrain and easily capable of combating the unseasonable wind. Very helpful advice from the owner. Highly recommended. Stuart S.

Great fun day out. Recommended! - Firstly hire an Electric bike it’s worth it. The whole experience was first class! The bikes were very good and Phil’s setting us on our way was good. He collected the wines we bought so we didn’t have to carry them. I had a puncture and very quickly he brought a replacement bike. Don’t underestimate the amount of cycling and our day was very hot. Excellent business can’t fault it!

Amazing experience - Amazing experience! Electric bikes were so fun and the wineries just beautiful. Phil was so helpful and even waited at one of the wineries for our wine purchase to take it back to the base for our collection. Highly recommend. A+++++++

Cellar door touring at it - This was such a fun way to visit the cellar doors in the region! Phil was super accommodating as we had a late start and picked up our bikes at 1 instead of noon. We still fit in 3 tastings (which was honestly plenty - they give you a good amount of wine!). If you buy wine while you're out, Phil will drive over to collect your bottles while you continue on so you don't have to worry about any casualties should you tip your bike over on the gravel driveways. We were glad to have the eBikes given the gravel paths and the wind the day we went, but it's mostly flat and would be totally do-able on one of the regular bikes. Helmets are provided.

Loved it, weather a tiny bit cold at 18 degrees - We had a great day (apart from very hard & slim bike seats). The cut through was a little trying (big gravel), but after that mostly plain sailing. The bike path was good for 90% of the ride and only a little bit on the main road (although cars whizzed past, they gave us plenty of room and not a lot of traffic anyway). Abby and Ash were our fav (recommend the flight tasting at Abby). Silini got a down vote from us as whilst it looked amazing, after biking all the way up the drive we were turned around at the door due to a cruise/bus lot coming in. A quick sign on the gate would have been nice...... maybe an led one, so they don't have to "go a whole km down the drive to change"<--- reason given for not having a sign. Only other wee whinge was that food being served or not should have been printed on the bike map, with all the tastings food became quite important lol

Vineyard cycling and lunch - On Yer Bike Tours couldnt have been more helpful. We booked from the UK last year. They sent us loads of information about the tours, wineries and the dining options available. They switched our day as the weather wasn’t great. Bikes were great and well looked after with baskets for rucksacks etc. They even collected wine purchases from the vineyards to save having to cycle with them. I’d recommend unreservedly. Thanks for a great day out.

Tasting tour in solo - Perfect organisation by Philip.I really enjoyed the possibility to taste wine without driving. Wineries proposed a large list of wine for tasting and the wines are wonderful

Great Experience and Lovely Staff - Had a great experience with On Yer Bikes! The staff were very helpful and informative and also super easy to deal with when we turned up on the day with changes and drop outs and additions. Loved the service where they come and collect and wines you buy from the wineries themselves before the end of the day. Highly recommend
