Unforgettable Trip to Kaunas - I can't recommend this excursion highly enough. Giedrius graciously agreed to lead this excursion for me on Christmas. It was my second excursion with him, and he kindly offered to move around some of the itinerary items between my two excursions to accommodate what would be open on Christmas Day. He was very flexible and tailored the trip to my interests - I was interested in learning more about Lithuania's Jewish history and he showed me several sites related to that history in Kaunas that weren't listed on the described itinerary. After a guided walking tour through the downtown area, I had plenty of time to explore on my own, visit the Christmas markets, grab something to eat, and shop for a few souvenirs. We managed to fit quite a bit into this trip and still return to Vilnius at a reasonable time. I learned quite about Lithuanian culture and traditions as well from his thoughtful narration during the drive.

Tour tailored to my request - With less than a week in the country and unable to travel to the areas where my ancestors lived, this was a great alternative. My guide spoke excellent English, he made sure I got to see the parts of the Rumsiskes open air museum that were pertinent to my family, even inquiring at the office if there were any publications about these regions. He picked me up at the back entrance so I wouldn't have to retrace my steps. We then headed to Kaunas where I saw the castle ruins, town hall plaza, a burgher's house, and several churches. We had lunch at an outdoor cafe-very reasonable. As it was a Monday and the monastery wasn't open and really wasn't on my must see list, we skipped it, instead stopping at Akopolis Mall at a basketball store where I made a purchase.

A beautiful day in Kaunas - I was lucky to be the only person taking this trip on that day. My Guide Jurata was very friendly, and insightful. We spent time at the Kaunas Rumsiskes, where we visited various old Lithuanian settlements. We also toured the Pazaislis monastry as well as Kaunas Old town and castle. She took time to present the cultural and historical background behind the settlements. That did help in appreciating Lithuanian history as well as Lithuanian society historically and in contemporary times. Personally, it was one of the most insightful tour I have ever experienced. For me it was an amazing experience.

Excellent tour with the excellent guide - Excellent tour, nevertheless we had to make some changes to the itinerary due to the needs of one of the participants. Our guide, Jurata, was an excellent guide & extremely sympathetic as well as very flexible that she adjusted quickly the itinerary in order to make happy everyone. As a result, we had even a better tour, during which we visited additionally Trakai.

Do not recommend this tour - While the the sites were interesting and the guide gave us some information while at the sites, I would not recommend this tour. The guide was using the phone, texting and calling, during the entire day. While driving to the sights, he was texting using multiple apps and making/taking phone calls. I was afraid he would hit another car while he was texting and driving on the highway! I would have understood if there was some type of emergency going on but the calls seemed personal. He seems like a nice guy and is knowledgeable about the topics but really needs to put the phone away and focus on the tour.
