Lush island with beautiful scenery and lots of plants - This spice island has much to see in the countryside. The Spice factory tour had guides that showed us the native spice plants and even allowed us to smell some of the native spice plants. The island has poverty as you would expect in some of these Caribbean islands but the beauty shines through the poverty and makes it a destination to see from cruise excursions.

Fantastic experience, and strongly recommended. - I think this was the best tour I’ve ever had since I came to Grenada. It helps that the woman guide was articulate enough to be understood by us Americans, so when she have information we could make out what she was saying. It’s really difficult to pick a highlight of the tour, but if forced to choose, I would say that visiting Grenville and sampling the East Indian-influenced local cuisine was a unique experience. It’s not everyday you get off the well-trodden tourist path and enter towns and villages that mainly locals frequent and few tourists usually venture. I think we need more of that.

Best tour of our vacation - My mother, my 11 yr old daughter and I booked this tour while on a cruise that stopped at Grenada. It was just us on the tour, which was awesome. Nezra was a fabulous guide who gave us history, culture, and personal experiences. All the food was delicious, and varied and the island is beautiful. Highly recommend doing a tour with Savor the Spice.

Great Guide! - Food was fine, van and small group also good, but what made this tour shine was our guide Xandra (Sandra)! She was always interesting and insightful - if there is anyway to request a tour by Zandra, then by all means do so!

Such a great tour - My sister and I were on a cruise in March and choose this company as a tour of Grenada. We had Candice as our tour guide and she was beyond wonderful. The tour was very well organized, we had very little waiting tine in any of the spots and the food was very delicious and very fresh. We enjoyed hearing all about the island and the culture from a local expert. We told other cruisers about our experience and they were so jealous! We hope to come back again!

Best Culinary Tour....Possibly Ever - We did the countryside savor the spice tour and were treated to a great tour of the island as well. Our host Nezra, was welcoming and personable. She met us at the cruise dock and showed us everything from local spice stands, to breakfast locals, to beaches on the eastern side of the island to a chocolate plantation, and everything in between. The tour was great as it mixed the delight of the scenery, the culinary curiosities of Grenada, and the local culture of all the people. Our only regret is that the tour was not longer. Nezra had us back to the pier area in time to do plenty of shopping. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants a variety of a tour of Grenada.

Fabulous day in Grenada! - We took this tour as a shore excursion during our Southern Caribbean cruise. What a fabulous way to see the island!! Our lovely and very articulate guide Addie met us a the cruise port terminal. We then took a short walk to the market where we had a wonderful breakfast of typical local food and spice tea. After a market tour and spice shopping, we headed out with Addie and Jamie our driver. We took a comprehensive island tour with gorgeous views, many tasty bites (doubles!!!) and learned a lot about the history and culture. The chocolate factory tour was especially interesting and the lunch venue was very nice too. A wonderful well organized experience that I highly recommend.

The perfect way to start your Grenada vacation! - We booked our tour for the first full day we were in Grenada and that was the best way to start our time on the island! The tour included sight-seeing and tasting local cuisine, so afterwards we knew what food we wanted to eat more of during our stay. Since the tour also included a few tourist sites, we could also check them off our list of places to go. Our tour guide was Addie and she was fantastic! Upon meeting up, we learned that we were the only two booked for that day, so we lucked out with a private tour. Addie was so friendly and it immediately felt like we had just met up with a friend who was showing us around. Addie was very knowledgeable about the island and shared many historical anecdotes as well as personal stories. While driving between destinations, Addie also shared cultural traditions, folklore stories and facts about the local flora. The tour included many stops and we really enjoyed trying a typical breakfast, a "Sunday family dinner" and local sweets. One of our favorite bites was a dish called doubles from a little place in Grenville. We even went back the next day to get more. This tour was definitely one of our absolute favorite activities while visiting Grenada! Thank you, Savor the Spice, for a wonderful introduction to the island and a memorable day! Even if you only have one day in Grenada, we would recommend going on this tour. The only critique we have is that it would be advisable to bring along a bottle of water. With all the mouth-watering treats, we got a bit extra thirsty between stops.

Fun Day - Selanie and Jaimie were perfect hosts for our Country Culinary Tour. We had an out of town guest and the tour gave her a wide variety of places around the island. My only disappointment was, the overview of the tour indicated that we would be tasting the national dish Oil Down, but this was not included in the tour. However, I would recommend it to friends.
