- Salzburger Altstadt - We leave the city of Salzburg driving south to the German boarder, your private guide will explain you the history of the city of Salzburg and how, for many years, it was a independent principality ruled by the catholic church and the importance of salt and how it influenced the growth of the city. Other points of interest will be explained on route to the next location.
- Eagle’s Nest Bus Departure Point - On our way to Obersalzberg bus terminal we will have a couple of great picture stops. Your private guide will show you where everything was located between 1933 and 1945. Places such as the Berghof grounds, entrance to the bunkers, SS barracks and much more. After giving you a mental picture and spacial orientation of the mountain, a scale model at the bus terminal will help you understand where everything was located.
- The Eagle’s Nest - Visit the Eagle Nest with your private guide. From the Eagle’s Nest bus terminal. You will board a specially equipped mountain bus for a breath-taking ride up the 4 mile road, with its 27% incline to a rocky plateau. From there we will walk through a 406ft (124 meter) long tunnel, leading us directly to the original WWII brass elevator that will transport you up through the heart of the Kehlstein mountain for another 406ft, straight into the Eagle’s Nest itself. After a tour through the Eagle’s Nest, you will have some free time to enjoy the view or have refreshments.
- Berchtesgaden - Descending from Obersalzberg we continue to the beautiful Bavarian mountain town of Berchtesgaden, located in the Koenigssee River valley. You will have time to explore Berchtesgaden on your own before returning to Salzburg

Explore the Eagle’s Nest and the subterranean bunkers in Berchtesgaden within half a day. The journey from Salzburg is perfect for those with a tight schedule, yet eager to tour the key historical locations. Start your day with breathtaking views of the Alps from Hitler´s famous mountain hideaway, the Eagle´s Nest. While descending from the Obersalzberg en route to Berchtesgaden town, witness the locations of the underground bunker systems beneath the mountain, and Adolf Hitler’s former residence, the Berghof. After visiting the Berghof locations, continue to the picturesque mountain hamlet of Berchtesgaden nestled in the Kings Lake River valley. Travel alongside Kings Lake creek on the drive back to Salzburg, ending at your hotel or any preferred location in Salzburg.

We highly recommend this tour. Most excellent tour and highly attentive, knowledgeable and professional tour guide - The historic significance, the very attentive tour guide. The beauty of the area as a nature preserve. The museum history lesson of WWII. We recommend this tour highly.

Over the top cool for all the history nuts! - Our tour guide (Luciano) sent a message saying that he was going to pick us up at 0750. We had only been in Austria for 2 days so the family was a little tired, but we did it anyway. Boy did he know what he was doing. His goal was to get moving early enough to beat the surge of tourists that start arriving to the park. We got there and the first thing we did was go up to the top. He was spot on right. We got up there and the clouds had given us the perfect view for the day. He told us that it's less than 25% chance to get a good view on the (right side) and then 50% chance of getting a good view of the lake side. We got both and then literally within 20 minutes the clouds took over. We then went back down and spent an hour in the bunker tour. We could have spent several hours! This whole trip was unbelievable for our family of 6.

Beautiful tour with great guide - Our tour guide, Carlos, was truly one of the most friendly tour guides. He had a very funny sense of humor, and we had a great time. It didn’t feel like we were overwhelmed with loads of information, but instead we learned the important facts that stuck with our whole group.
The tour itself is amazing and we saw some incredible views. Having a tour guide like Carlos made the experience that much better. Would hope for people visiting in the future that they could have a similar experience!

Carlos was amazing! - Carlos was amazing! His van was incredibly clean. He was very knowledgeable and personable. He gave us the option of visiting the underground bunker which we did and I personally am so glad he gave us that option. Carlos speaks six languages and his English is perfect. Thank you for an incredible day!

An Incredible Experience - Superb Guide - This tour of the Eagles Nest was incredible! Carlos was our guide, and besides his kindness and hospitality, he was very knowledgeable and informative during our time together.
The experience was hassle-free and very enjoyable. We had a blast, and the fact that Carlos is passionate about the history makes it even better.
We will definitely do it again, and we highly recommend!

Wonderful trip. Lots of fog at the top. - The whole trip was wonderful from start to finish. Our driver and guide pointed out many things about the region that we would have missed if we had been on our own. He even took us to locations from the sound of music that we didn’t see on our tour the day before that were on our route.

Top-notch private tour - Michael, our tour guide, was excellent. Because we knew a fair amount about the history of this period, we needed a tour guide with in-depth knowledge of the period leading up to WW2 and after. Michael had that knowledge. He was also delightful as a person as well. Highly recommended.

Fabulous trip to the Eagle’s Nest! - Luciano was fantastic. We had a beautiful day in the Alps and, thanks to this tour, it was completely stress free as he took care of all the logistics. Luciano moved at just the right pace and provided interesting details and info along the way. Highly recommend!
