- Chinatown - Bangkok - Our rendezvous point is just outside Wat Mangkon station, where we’ll kick off our exploration on foot. We’ll make our way to Wat Mangkon Kamalawat (Wat Leng Noei Yi), the city’s most prominent and significant Chinese temple, showcasing traditional Chinese architectural designs. We’ll take in the elaborate details of the facade before delving into the vibrant backstreets and passageways of Chinatown. (Please note: Wat Mangkon is not accessible after 6:00 pm, but its exterior can still be admired from a distance.)
Chinatown’s culinary scene is a key highlight of the area. As we meander through the tight lanes, we’ll encounter street vendors offering an array of mouthwatering fare, including rolled rice noodle soup, crispy dough fritters, noodle soup with fish balls and fish wontons, and shrimp dumplings. Your amiable and informed TripGuru will share insights into the origins and anecdotes of these tasty treats. You’re encouraged to sample these delectable offerings to fully immerse yourself in the authentic Chinatown experience.
