Highlights
  • San Bartolo Coyotepec - A Zapotec community renowned for its unique black clay pottery. • San Martin Tilcajete - Home to the magical alebrijes, fantastical creatures carved from copal wood by local artisans. Discover our tonas and nahuales, spiritual guides believed to accompany us through life. Participate in a copal cleansing, explore natural dyes, and immerse yourself in the enchanting atmosphere of this town.
  • Santo Tomás Jalieza - A village celebrated for its extraordinary women who master the ancient art of backstrap loom weaving from the age of three. Witness the intricate process of weaving with cotton, using only their hands and waists. Stroll through a vibrant market filled with crafts or visit the homes of notable women in the community.
  • Ocotlán de Morelos - Known for its delicious moles, the market here features “La Frida Oaxaqueña,” a traditional mole cook famous for her culinary skills and resemblance to Frida Kahlo. Enjoy a meal prepared by a traditional cook, integral to local patronal festivities known as mayordomías. Alternatively, visit a smoke kitchen to sample dishes cooked on a comal or over firewood. (Food not included)
  • Santa Catarina Minas - Take a guided tour of an ancestral Mezcal distillery in one of the foremost communities for Agave or Maguey distillation. Tour of the crafts - The tour was amazing, we took the tour of the crafts where we met, the black mud, the alebrijes, looms, but what we loved the most was the mezcal, an incredible experience, I had already taken tours with other agencies in previous views, but what we lived with Ricardo we loved, we hope to see you soon, by the way we recommend the route of the crafts, worth every moment.
