Amazing kayak tour of the La Jolla caves - Julie and Johno (sp?) were AMAZING guides during our La Jolla caves kayak excursion. They were super knowledgeable about the history of the caves and marine biology of the area. I highly recommend asking for them as guides.

If you had one day in La Jolla, make sure you do this tour! - our tour guide Brodi was amazing!! He was so knowledgeable about the sea life and history of the area and though my husband and I were a bit nervous to enter the caves we felt completely safe with him! Would totally do this again!!

Nice tour! - Good tour management and friendly helpful counter staff and great tour guide. Very nice scenery, very good explanations from the guide. First time ocean kayaking, please be careful that it is totally different from lake or river water, the wave can be quite high at some point. My husband got bad seasick ( in the wave up and down up and down and very up very down none stopped ) which we never expected it would’ve happened as he does so many many kayaks… The tour guide was very helpful and tied our boat with his then we can make it back to the shore quicker. Thank you very much!!

Nice way to enjoy the beauty of La Jolla from the water. - I have mixed feelings about this tour. On the one hand, it was fun, fulfilling, and aptly run by our guides Keagan and Alex. On the other hand, I thought they played it too safe (definitely get not going into caves because waves high and we were all newbies), but many other inexperienced groups got a lot closer to the caves than we did (not sure why). Tour is well run overall, but too many emails (especially marketing ones) and the 30 minute check-in rule beforehand is not enforced. As for hints, get there earlier to find unrestricted parking as suggested and consider a wet suit. Tour would benefit from a video that shows what to expect when entering and existing the water.

Great way to see La jolla from another angle - I have mixed feelings about this tour. On the one hand, it was fun, fulfilling, and replete with beautiful scenery and Keagan and Alex aptly handled the group. On the other hand, parts felt rushed and I felt the tour was played overly safe (I get not going into the caves. Waves were high and none of the group were experienced kayakers), but other groups got much closer than we did and they were not experienced. Tour operators should consider running a vid to those waiting for their tour to start and should enforce their 30 minute beforehand check-in rule. Tour wisely advises to look for street parking away from main street due to time limits. Start looking earlier to make sure you have no issues.

Out and back, nothing interesting - Kayak over to look at cliffs…and some caves. Everything viewed from quite a distance. Not interesting or engaging…I would not do this tour again.

Not worth it if they don’t actually take you in the kayak the caves. - We only did this to kayak in the caves and we never ended up doing so. They had us kayak around them. We sat around bobbing in the water a lot getting nauseous and not being able to hear the guides talking about the marine life. They also charge you $6 for a rusty small locker so if you’re a couple you need 2. Then if it’s cold you have to pay to rent wet suits so everything adds up fast. We could have rented kayaks on our own to have done what we did.
