Joshua Tree National Park - The Joshua Tree National Park is home to a diverse range of wildlife, featuring 57 types of mammals, including elusive bighorn sheep and common coyotes, alongside 46 reptile species, like the increasingly rare desert tortoise. The park is also a key spot on the Pacific Flyway, recording over 250 bird species, making it a hotspot for birdwatching, from common ravens to migrating warblers.[17] Within the city of Joshua Tree itself, animals like cottontail rabbits, coyotes, roadrunners and quails can be frequently seen. We will drive through the park for approximately 2-3 hours and stop for a hike during the tour. Drive time to Joshua tree and back to San Diego will be a total roundtrip time of between 5 hours to 5 1/2 hours depending on traffic.
