Embark on a sunset cruise that takes you out on the Bay and the Pacific to witness the sunset.
Your captain will ensure you have the best possible experience on the water. As you take in the views, enjoy complimentary beer, soft drinks, and snacks.
If you feel chilly, grab one of the provided blankets, or purchase a jacket or sweater at their store during check-in. Use the provided binoculars to admire the coastline or spot wildlife! You can even stream your own music to the boat’s Bluetooth speakers.
Please note: The boat is limited to six (6) passengers. To make it a private adventure, book all six spaces and bring along five friends!
- Point Loma - Sail San Diego’s private marina is situated in the Point Loma / Shelter Island neighborhood. Your sunset sail will pass by the Point Loma lighthouse.
- Old Point Loma Lighthouse - See both the new and old lighthouses on Point Loma during your San Diego sunset sailing tour with Sail San Diego.
- USS Midway Museum - We aim to pass by the USS Midway so you can see it from a unique perspective. Our private sunset sails offer the chance to sail directly next to the USS Midway museum! Book all 6 tickets to ensure a private experience for your group.
- Coronado Bridge - You’ll always see the Coronado Bridge on one of Sail San Diego’s sunset sails. Sometimes up close, sometimes from a distance. Always impressive.
- Coronado Island - We always sail right by Coronado Island during our sunset sails!

Set sail from San Diego on this small-group sailing tour on a sunset sail on the open ocean. This three-hour adventure on a Catalina sailboat is limited to six (6) guests allowing you a comfortable, semi-private experience (or, purchase all 6 tickets and grab five friends to have a completely private sail!).
Sit back, relax and enjoy the complimentary beer, soft drinks and snacks as you watch the sun slowly drop behind the gentle contours of Point Loma with the glistening city lights behind you.

Wonderful - Wonderful experience! It was my first time on a sail boat, was very hesitant but so happy we did! Saw lots of wildlife, friendly captain and the boat groups up to 6 so it’s not over crowded. Definitely would do again!

Must try when in San Diego - First time sailing and we had a great time. We booked a 3 hour sunset sail during dolphin season (May 6, 2024) and we saw a lot of seals and dolphins, some even swimming close to the boat. The weather was perfect for that chill sunset vibes, drinks and snacks are included. Plenty of space for our group of 4. Captain Dave is an excellent captain with great boat music! He also provides some info on areas that we were seeing while sailing :) There's also a restroom that is nice and clean. Will definitely book again.

AWESOME TRIP - We had a wonderful experience!!! Michael our Captain was knowledgeable, professional, easy going and made the experience onboard enjoyable for all. The weather was delightful, and we saw sea lions, and a couple of dolphins, and even received an introduction to learning how to sail.

Amazing time on the water - For my husband's 55th Birthday I booked us a Sunset Sail with Sail San Diego. My husband and I are scuba divers, and he grew up on the lakes in the Midwest. By far, this was an AMAZING experience. We loved the small amount of just 6 passengers, and the captain. From the time I booked the event until we were back in port, the time was top notch. Genuine, personable staff. Captain Dave gets 10 stars from us. Great sailing playlist, history background, and well rounded. Thank you all for making my husbands Birthday phenomenal.

Top 10 San Diego experience, thanks Captain Greg! - Top 10 experience in San Diego!
Incredible 3 hour tour with Happy Captain Greg. Captain Greg was friendly and humorous, a bit sassy, and read the crowd well. Only 3 couples on the boat, everyone quite enjoyable. We saw dolphins! Seals, submarines, various interesting boats that the Captain explained to us. And we were all invited to try helming the wheel. Unlimited beer, hard seltzer, NA drinks, snacks, blankets were all provided. Always felt safe, even when heeling and going fast.
Overall a great time at a great value!

Wonderful sailboat cruise - We saw dolphins, sea lions, osprey and pelicans. Captain Dave was very informative and attentive. We had a wonderful sailboat cruise. Worth the money.

Excellent customer service - The morning whale watching sail was fantastic! The staff and capitan managed the trip and customers well. Service exceeded my expectations. The vessel was spotless and well stocked with snacks and beverages.

Not enough time under sail - Spent very little time sailing, most of the time just cruised around the bay. Captain Jake didn’t provide much commentary or information about San Diego. We were disappointed.
