Additional Information

Street cuisine in Tijuana embodies robust flavors, swift service, and a heaping helping of salsa. Envision yourself as a bustling student rushing from school to work, and a food cart becomes your rescue mission, serving up the meal you need to push through the day. This is the experience folded into our tour – a journey of walking and eating. Mexican street food offers snacks such as zingy fresh fruit sprinkled with lime and pepper, perfect for cooling down on a summer’s day, or boiled corn with a hint of butter, lime, and some salsa to accompany your strolls and conversations. Tacos rule the street food scene, with their array of variations from the humble beans taco to the al pastor taco (seasoned grilled pork), all elevated with generous dollops of guacamole and lime, plus the right salsa. How about finessing the culinary adventure with a visit to a solid taproom try out small-scale brewery beers. If your palate skews sweet, perhaps a margarita from an original Mexican cantina stacks up better. As the tour unfolds and you sample the street food, you start to form your own take on Mexico. So, why not join us for a gastronomical adventure across the border.

A great day in Tijuana - Humberto was a wonderful and informative tour guide. During the tour we tried different types of foods/tequilas, visited local markets, and learned about the history of Tijuana. We were able to go at our own pace and tailor the tour to our interests. I would definitely recommend this tour and Humberto to anyone looking to try local cuisines for a day in Tijuana.

Not enough food selection - Love the tour Maricel, the tour guide was pretty good.I don't know if I will take this tour again.I find the food was all the same and I think they should have been more different variety of food for it to be a street food tour I am sure mexico is famous for other dishes and not only taco. Did a little bit of shopping.

Fun, easy, memorable way to see Tijuana - This is the tour if you’re looking for a casual but memorable day tour across the border. My tour guide Tadeo was fabulous and made a point to cater the tour to my desires. The food stops were amazing. Each location had its own unique atmosphere, and each taco had its own flavor. Tadeo was very knowledgeable about Tijuana, the traditions, the food and any other questions I threw at him. Everyone else on the team was very helpful. Diego assisted me across the border and made that process relaxed. Overall I’m very happy I booked this tour.

fantastic day - Tadeo Calles is an awesome tour guide! Ready to customize to our party's needs & desires regarding food preferences & stops. Tadeo added a great coffee stop to satisfy our caffeine need. Tadeo was unbelievably knowledgeable about local history including a tremendous history of the powerful mural art he toured us through. Very conscientious to provide bathroom breaks & generally just a pleasure to spend the day with. He picked up on our interests & provided lots of great info relevant for us. Although we could not find the meet up point in San Diego due to Google maps not bringing us to address that was in the instructions & the instructions were rather general about location (would have been really helpful to specify to meet in front of McDonalds next to trolley), the US side coordinator answered our call right away & connected us to Tadeo via WhatsAp on the Mexican side. Tadeo talked us through the border crossing to meet up with him. Really memorable day with incredible food (& we are rather particular foodies). Highly recommend. Tadeo offered to send the photos he took & we still hope to receive them.

Best way to eat through Tijuana - Marisol was a great tour guide! The rest of the group canceled last minute, so it was just me 1 on 1. I had never done a border crossing like this, but it was super easy and she was waiting right their on the other side. On the way back, she dropped me off in line, gave me tips how to be ready when I reached the front, and avoid scammers. The food was fantastic! The blue corn quesadilla was better than anything I've ever had in America, and I really enjoyed the Mexican coffee (and I don't usually like coffee!). This was my first time having birra, I wanted to make sure my first was authentic...and the stand didn't disappoint! Marisol also brought me to sweet locations too, where we tasted local hand made candies and cheeses...as well as a aqua fresca shop. The last food stop was in the fish market section, where they had amazing Baja fish tacos. The craft brewery stop and tequila tasting really rounded out the tour nicely to balance sweet, savory, and spicy. Marisol was an awesome guide, answering all my questions about Tijuana, Mexican culture, food, and some soccer too! I don't know that I would have traveled to Tijuana on my own, it was nice to have someone to coordinate travel from the board into the city, recommend places, and guide you past tourist traps to the better spots. Highly recommend booking this tour!

A fun and unique experience - We had a great day with Herberto. He had so much knowledge about the city, historical information, Mexican culture and of course the delicious food. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to spend a fun day across the boarder. First- timers as well as people who have visited Mexico will learn something new. We were given the opportunity to try many different types of food, drink and a little shopping. The trip back iover the boarder took a few hours but overall it was worth it.
