Additional Information

Tijuana, a neighboring city to San Diego, pulse with life since its foundation in 1889. Its varied neighborhoods boast an array of unique taco styles, adjusted to fit moments and moods of the day. Start your morning with a quintessential Mexican breakfast - a birria taco, with its crunchy tortilla and multitude of flavor layers. Then for lunch, grab an easy classic, such as asada tacos complete with guacamole and a splash of lime. You will find innovative yet familiar taco offerings in restaurant settings too. As part of your day trip, enjoy a craft beer tasting. Baja California prides itself on having Mexico’s finest brews. End the day and prepare for a night of cantina revelry with a flavorful adobada taco. Embrace the delectable world of Mexican cuisine with us! Also, we firmly believe in the healing power of Taco Tuesday, in Border Tour. After a break, it can be tough returning to work. However, the anticipation of diving into a delicious taco transcends mundane into extraordinary, making it the highlight of any trip.

Lovely tour of Tijuana food and drinks! - I booked this tour last minute and I'm so glad I did! Our tour guides were so helpful getting us through the border (on foot), and then once we arrived on the Tijuana side, our guide, Carlos, took us around the town on foot, with taco, tamale and quesadilla tasting throughout the day, with some sweets and a few tequila tastings as well. We also stopped at a very cool brewery with excellent views of the city and the border. I would take this tour again even though I've already been on it. Carlos made a wonderful tour guide and, as a native of Tijuana, he took us to some of his favorite places, which made the experience even better (eat and drink like the locals!). All in all it was a 10/10 tour and a fun day. Highly recommend!

Best Tour of All! - Victor Garcia is what made the tour wonderful! He was warm, very knowledgeable and fun to be around. It was also very easy crossing the border going into and exiting Mexico. Next time I have more relatives visiting me in San Diego, I will take them on this Tour, but ONLY if Victor is our Tour Guide!

Excellent in every aspect - Marisol was awesome! The tour was fantastic! The food stops were delicious! Meeting spot was a bit confusing, meet in front of McDonald's, site just gave address. The walk included shopping (😃😃😃), tequila tasting, margaritas and of course yummy tacos. Marisol, our tour guide, was wonderful. She was patient, kept us on point, friendly and even held our purchases while we went for more. Highly recommend!!! - two girls from Boston

Fun day of tacos & tequila - Diego and Marisol were wonderful hosts! Diego texted us the day prior with clear instructions on where to meet him at San Ysidro, and walked us to the border crossing day-of. Crossing the border was easy. Once we got into TJ, Marisol was waiting right at the border exit. Throughout the day, she was attentive, engaging, asked us if there was anything specific we wanted to do/eat, and took pics for our group. She was so friendly and fun! At the end of the day, she walked us right to the border crossing line. I loved this trip as it's organized, she kept us on time, yet we never felt rushed. I loved not having to plan/think! Great day-trip! There was zero line to cross back into the U.S. with Global Entry, about an hour wait without. Line moved pretty quickly.

Fantastic fun and food in Tijuana - A fantastic toe-dipping experience into Mexico's second most populous city. We were met by Andrés just on the US side of the border. Whilst we were waiting for others who were taking the tour to arrive he kept us informed and entertained. Once through the border we were greeted by Tadeo who was our guide for the next 4 hours. Tadeo was a great guy and made our time in Tijuana a genuinely pleasurable experience. We had some very tasty tacos, learnt a bit about the history and culture of the city, did a bit of shopping, and tasted a variety of local Tequilas and Mezcal. I highly recommend this tour and have nothing but the highest praise for Tadeo who guided us through this wonderful experience.

Marisol gives a fantastic tour! - I was extremely lucky that I was able to do a solo tour with Marisol. She tailored the tour to places I wanted to see and to eat, which was amazing. She had such a rich knowledge of history and made sure I was constantly looked after. Highly recommend Marisol, she's so lovely, all the food places she took me to were delicious. Fantastic tour!

Border Tours needs to lift its game. - The operator of this tour ( Border Tours ) is totally unorganised and unreliable, they have no shop front or meeting place.... they do not reply to emails and if you ring the number given you get a Spanish speaking recording....they advise to communicate via WhatsApp, however if you don't have this App you are stuffed. As I had no communication after we booked the Tour to confirm the meet up location I sent an email to the tour company the afternoon before requesting this information without a response from them....at some point before I sent the email we were sent information on the name of our tour guide and a phone number to ring him on...each time we rang this number we got a Spanish speaking recording. We got ourselves to the meet up spot that we found on the information section of the tour on Tripadvisor which is the footpath in front of a McDonalds restaurant at the end of the trolly line at the border crossing....there is a tour Company close by un- associated with Border Tours who said that this is an on going problem with clients of this company, confused at what to do or where to go....there were other people waiting and unsure what to do as they also had no communication from the same Border Tours, although they were on a different tour to ours...an hour later these people managed to communicate with their guide via text message who informed them everyone had to get themselves across the border themselves as it was too busy for the guides to come to us. The Taco Tuesday tour is actually a walking tour around Tijuana with three stops through out the day to eat some tacos, first stop is with a street vendor for a breakfast taco...a minced meat laden oily offering, then across the street for a cool drink to wash it all down....a wander through the streets until lunch at a local cafe for a choice of tacos and a juice, the half hour we sat in the cafe is the only time we sat all day...comfortable shoes are essential on this tour. After lunch we were taken to three typical overpriced tourist trap type shops where the vendors tried the hard sell on overpriced items, it was then on to a Tequila tasting bottle shop where again you had a hopeful vendor pressing to make a sale. It was then on to another street vendor for our final taco of the day, after that we retraced our steps and then by local bus to the border where we had to stand in line for an hour to recross the border back into the USA. Our Tour Guide for the day was friendly and had a good sense of humour, I cannot recall his name at this time....the three stars are for him, not the tour company. Tijuana is a dusty old place with no redeeming features....it is not some where that I would bother returning to.
