Additional Information

This is the most thrilling, fun, and informative way to explore San Francisco - the premiere GPS-guided storytelling vehicle! The smart talking car does the navigation and directs you to the sights that make San Francisco vibrant. Discover what’s making headlines, what visitors are enthusing over, and what Time Magazine has appointed ‘as one of the year’s coolest inventions’.

  • GoCar’s hold a maximum of 2 people. Prices are per GoCar - not per person.
  • Passengers must be 4 years of age or older - and small children must safely fit into one of our DOT approved helmets. The GoCar is registered as a motorcycle - but a motorcycle license is not required to operate the vehicle.
  • What is a CDW?
  • No, but the tour will navigate you to Fort Point. Here the bridge soars about 200-feet above your head. It is possible to gain pedestrian access to the bridge span from the car park at the bridge vantage point.
  • On the day of rental, a $500 security deposit will be held on the customer’s credit card. If a CDW or SLI insurance plan is selected, a $300 security deposit will be held. The security deposit is released when the GoCar is returned.
  • Absolutely not! If there is a San Francisco sight you wish to see but is not yet included on the tour, just use the map provided to navigate your own way through the city streets. You can even put a CD in the stereo and enjoy music along the way!
  • Pickup location must be chosen at time of booking. This is the location where your GoCar will be reserved
  • Can you stop along the way?
  • Do you have to stay on the tour?
  • Can you cross the Golden Gate Bridge?
  • All renters must be able to read, understand and sign a liability release and waiver form (standard participant agreement)
  • Foreign language options are available in French, Spanish, Italian and German
  • Up to 35-mph. Note that drivers in San Francisco do not typically drive fast, therefore an average speed of 30-mph or less can be expected while driving.
  • Yes, you set your own pace. The car always knows where you are and you can park anywhere you want (motorcycle parking or car parking) for as long as you want, and as soon as you start to drive again, the car will begin to talk!
  • For the safety and comfort of passengers the maximum height is 6’4” (1.9m) and maximum combined weight of 500 lbs (226.8 kg) for two passengers
  • How fast does the car go?
  • Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is an optional form of insurance similar to rental car insurance that limits your liability in case of accident. It is non-refundable. If you opt to purchase the CDW your deposit for rented a GoCar is only USD$300.00 instead of USD$500.00
  • Vehicles:
  • Are controlled with a motorcycle-style handle, throttle, and hand brakes. The 3-wheeled cars seat two and have a lockable trunk for your things. Their small size makes parking a breeze, and in San Francisco - a major bonus!
  • Driver must be 21 years or older to rent and must provide a major credit card and valid driver’s license at the time of check-in. A driver’s license must be in the customer’s physical possession (no photocopy). For foreign customer’s, an international license is not necessary.

If you are reading the reviews just BOOK IT. You only live once! - If you are looking at reviews deciding if you want to do this DO IT! I will say my experience had it's fair share of issues but I called and they were helpful and cared. I think for myself I would totally just go all around San Francisco. We did the Muir Woods and over Golden Gate bridge. Traffic due to tree cutting and construction. We did the all day. I really wanted to see the sites around San Francisco. We didn't get to but will totally go another all day in town the next time we come. To the guy at the GoCar place Thank you for helping us and for everything. You made us feel so much better. The woman that answers the phone. Thank you for dealing with me. 1 thing I would recommend would be an added emergency adaptor so you can charge with any charger or use the charger at Muir Woods. I really hope to return to San Francisco and do the all day in town sight seeing. Also the navigation is wonderfully done. You only live once. Book it and enjoy!! Thank you guys!

Great adventure to see the sights! - The Tour guide was thorough and very helpful and informative. The vehicle does have a very limited turning radius, so beware. You may have to get out and push the car to park.

We saw a different side of San Francisco rich with history, views, and incredible hidden gems. Highly recommend getting the all day pass we could’ve stayed out later

A day in the yellow car. - Absolutely wonderful day in the little yellow car. I was a little apprehensive before the day but the instructions were clear and we were soon on our way. The car is actually very easy to use (except in reverse where you have to push :-)) and we were out in the car for the whole day. You get a whole new perspective on the city and you get to places you would not go on a bus. If you have the chance go on the yellow.

Super Fun! - It was a super fun way to see/hear all the iconic places in SF. It takes you to all the nooks and crannies of SF. You can stop & park as often as you want. It was very easy to use and felt very safe. The other cars were respectful and often gave us the right of way. Staff was great and made it very fast and casual check-in & out. We did all day but I think a 2-4 hour could be enough. After a while we stopped stopping at each site. Be advices is chilly day you should bring mittens and jacket. You wear a helmet so no beanies.

You gotta do this! Best way to experience San Francisco! - Had a great time! Great way to see so many parts of the city that we never would have seen just driving around on our own. It was fun having an audio guide telling us what we were seeing. One day is probably not enough!
