Patrick is amazing! - Patrick, our bus driver was amazing! I learned so much about the area including some very in depth understanding of the ecology of the redwoods themselves. What an amazing time.

Good trip to Muir Woods. - This is a well run experience. You meet at the big bus tours building at 99 Jefferson street. The trip on a large tour bus takes you through parts of San Francisco before crossing the Golden Gate Bridge to Muir Woods. The driver gives you information on the areas you are driving through. You are dropped off with your admission ticket at Muir Woods about 9:30 am. You then have 90 minutes to tour Muir Woods on your own. You revised the bus and are taken to Sausalito where you either have 45 min to explore and reboard the bus or take the ferry (where you are given a ticket that allows you to take whatever ferry time back to San Francisco) you choose. I’d recommend paying for the ferry upgrade, especially if you really want to spend any time in Sausalito. Note that Tower Tours is managed by Big Bus Tours. This is not an overly personalized tour but gives you what you need.

Quiet piece of Heaven - James was a great tour guide with lots of knowledge about the San Fransisco area. The Muir Woods is a must see, was nice to get out of the city and be in the quiet woods for a few hours. Pictures don’t do this place justice, the trees are incredible!

So Beautiful! - I highly recommend this tour, especially to anyone who hasn’t seen or driven over the Golden Gate Bridge. The opportunity to take in the views and take photos while someone else drives is the way to go. The drive to Muir Woods was scenic and curvy and lovely. Our guide was amazing and engaging. The park itself was awe-inspiring. Peaceful, beautiful and unlike anything we’ve ever seen. Clean bathrooms and a cool gift shop rounded out the already fantastic experience. We did stop in Sausalito en route back to San Fran. We didn’t love Sausalito- it was hot and the people were a little snooty. We did enjoy sitting right at the water while we waited for time to get back on the bus. We felt this part of the tour was unnecessary and extra just wanted to get back to San Fran. Overall, it was wondering, though, and we’d do it again.

Can’t miss it! - James was a great tour bus host! Muir Woods is beautiful. I only wish we could have stayed a bit longer. Perhaps 2-2.5 hours instead of 1.5 hours

Rent a car next time - The bus to get us there was fine. The Muir Woods are great. The stop was perfect amount of time for us. Being left off in Sausalito and then taking a ferry later was also perfect. The tour or guide part of our driver was missing. The information shared on the way there was trite and really nothing on the Muir Woods or Sausalito. This was not a tour, it was a taxi service, it would be cheaper to rent a car.
