Clyde the Guide: Fun, Thoughtful, and Brilliant - Both my partner and I know pockets of San Francisco over our decades of experience visiting friends and family. Regardless, we learned new things, hit places we've never seen, and Clyde delivered it in the most entertaining way. To start, sadly for Clyde, we got a 'couple's only tour," as no one else signed up - and others missed out on a fun time. We started at Verve Coffee Roasters at Church and Market, and Clyde asked if we knew this was a walking tour - to which we nodded as it's in the TITLE of all things (some don't read that...), explained what we were about to experience was indeed a true, fantastical, and fun account of time in the city. I'll not steal any of his thunder, as he is an amazing storyteller, a brilliant historian, and great graphic artist - all combined into one. The best part of the trip though is that it's interactive -and as a participant, you get to be a part of the tale. You'll be enraptured within seconds, and Clyde will traverse the gentlest of hills (for those used to flat ground - it's still steep at times, but in San Francisco, trust me, he's selected the easiest of streets to reach the destinations and points of interest). There are several stops, and the pace is based on you - he'll go faster if you want, and slow down when you need. When you reach points of interest, there's trivia, and opportunity to play along. He's the most gracious of hosts, as when he'd hit us with a zinger, I would high-joke him a few times, get a look of "really?" and then he'd just laugh. I can only think we got away with this as often as we did because there were only two of us, but then again, it's also in Clyde's excellent nature. Each place he will take you is a slice of life in the city, all with rich history, some amazing without the tales, others sad and just insightful. Nonetheless, even in the low notes, Clyde will pick your spirits up immediately with a fun tale great for young and old. Take the tour; you'll recognize it's some of the best two hours you've spent in the city.

Walking tour of San Fransisco areas - We had a fantastic tour with Clyde. He was full of information and fun. I loved his poems and stories and we smiled and laughed the whole time. We saw bits of San Fransisco we wouldn't otherwise have visited and we highly recommend spending some time with Clyde!

A surreal treasure! - Once upon a time, there was a story-teller Clyde. He showed us around Mission. It started from a Muni station. He told us San Fran tales, making us laugh--he never fails! Cartoons of characters he drew, and suspension in the stories brew! It is the best tour under the sun. You see we are infected by its fun! If you see this review's appeal. Go book the Surreal Tour for real! Thank you, Clyde!

Clyde's Tour should be at the top of your list of things to do in SF! - This was one of the best parts of our trip to San Francisco. Clyde Always is a delightful person who tells great stories, paces his tour perfectly, and clearly knows the history of the city. He uses his skills as a poet and writer to share nuggets of SF's past and present, weaving them all together in a package of rhyme. Robert Service would be proud and impressed!

Totally fun! - We really enjoyed our tour with Clyde. He is a talented rhymester with a great sense of humor. The tour is exactly as described so you know what to expect. Some of the things that I liked about it were the attention paid to local murals and muralists, the interesting historical tidbits, and his attention to the architecture and culture of the 3 neighborhoods that you are visiting. I like how Clyde supports the local businesses along the tour. I loved his drawings that illustrated the characters in the stories that he wove into the tour. This is a totally pleasant way to spend a couple of hours in a wonderful city.

Highly recommend this walking tour - I highly recommend this tour, especially for those new to the city. Clyde was an excellent, thoughtful, and knowledgable guide. Not only did the tour include detailed descriptions of the different neighborhoods and sites, but also included tidbits of information during the walks in between sites (e.g., the different forms of SF transportation and their significance, local artists and their murals). This was my first time on the west coast, and I really appreciated Clyde's knowledge of the all the different birds, plants, and general ecosystem! Such a cool experience. Thank you Clyde!

Excellent Mix of History and Myth - Want to wander the streets of San Francisco hearing tales and legends of San Francisco? If so, this is a tour for you! Clyde brings to life some of the history of San Francisco and peppers in songs and images to add wonderful levity to the tales. Definitely an excellent diversion to add to your trip!
