Horseback to Xunantunich - Booked a horse back tour to Xunantunich with St Leonard's Tours beginning of May. We had 5, 'sort of', done this before horse riders. Jose' was the lead and fitted us extremely well to our horses and their demeanor. They walked; we rode. They pointed out sights along our route to the ferry and then the site. They gave us a little history, stories of the animals, trees and birds. Once at the sight, similar info was given, what had occurred here, how it came to be in the condition now etc. Jose' had a working knowledge, not just a memorized scrip to follow. He was able to answer more probing questions too. All in all a highlight of our Belize trip. Jose' and his group were fun, entertaining and we highly recommend this tour.

Great way to see Xunantunich and the countryside - We had a great time on this trip and would absolutely recommend it to all levels of riders! We were one intermediate and two novice riders that had no troubles on the ride. The horses were well trained. Our guide was very knowlegeable of the area with personal experiences to relate and did a great job guiding us on the hour and a half ride from the stables then down along the river and up to Xunantunich. It was a beautiful ride through the jungle along the river where we saw iguanas and spider monkeys and tasted allspice leaves. The tour was personalble and small which allowed for nice conversations. If you like horses this tour is a great way to see Mayan ruins.

Amazing experience of Xunantunich - The horseback riding tour to Xunantunich was an incredible experience! Carla, Miguel and Mark are great guides that picked out each horse for our group based on our experience & comfort with riding and created the perfect pairing all around. I felt perfectly safe in their hands and felt even more confident to ride despite having minimal prior experience. The horses are well mannered and well looked after. The pick up and drop off to my accom was also super convenient and the guides are very knowledgeable about the Xunantunich ruins, and safely guide you up the climb to the top of El Castillo pyramid with cool water bottles always at the ready throughout the tour. It was such a highlight of my trip. I cannot recommend them enough!

Favorite Part of Our Trip to Belize - The day with Carla, Rod and Miguel was our favorite day of our Belize adventure. My husband, and 3 year old daughter met them at their stables for a private horse ride through their farm/ jungle along the river. We were introduced to Belizian history, taught about the flora and fauna. Our 3 year old LOVES horses and Miguel was so wonderful with her. We then transitioned to a tour of Xunitunich with Carla. We learned so much about the Mayans at our pace with no pressure. Carla even introduced us to stingless bees! Carla and Rod have children of their own and were perfect with our 3 year old and helping to make sure we all has a wonderful time. St Leonard’s horses appeared very cared for and our favorite am Appaloosa! Thank you for spending the day with us and making our trip so special.

Horse riding to Mayan ruins - We loved this outing! Carla was so knowledgeable about the area and was patient with us as we did not have much experience with horses. The area was beautiful, the horses were well trained and the Mayan ruins were quiet and impressive. We couldn’t have asked for a better time.

Incredible Family Experience! - Amazing experience for our whole family! This is a great local family run business. We learned so much at the Xunantunich Maya ruins, Carla was a great guide and had incredible knowledge to share about the area. The horseback ride along the river was beautiful, and we were lucky enough to see howler monkeys. The family was so friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend Carla and her family:)

Great horseback riding experience - My daughter and I did the horseback ride from Leonard's Stable to Xunantunich. Our guides were Joseph and Miguel. We had a beautiful ride through fields to the trail along the river. When we arrived at Xunantunich Rod met us there and he was our guide at the ruins. He was very knowledgeable about the Mayan ruins. Carla was great in answering our emails and setting up our booking. When we got back to the stables Rod had one of the local Belizeans shuck us a coconut and we drank coconut milk then ate coconut meat. It was a nice way to end the day. I would highly recommend this stable.
