You will learn to pick the freshest produces when you visit and shop for the ingredients in the public market of San Jose where the local families get the freshest produces. After picking the produce you will get to the home of your Master Chef where you will learn how to cook the best of the Mexican salsas and meals. An authentic local cooking experience.

Additional Information

Once you’ve gathered all the necessary fresh items from a local market for the day’s culinary endeavors, you’ll travel to the chef’s residence for an interactive cooking session and tasting event, where you’ll assist in preparing a comprehensive Mexican feast. The opportunity for private lessons is provided on request, but requires a minimum group size of 6 at the standard rate.

In SAN JOSE DEL CABO city you have to go to the Municipal Market (Mercado Municipal Alberto Alvarado Arambulo) Please meet Chef Francisco at the "Rubi Tortilleria" by the Main Entrance of the market. Chef will meet you 10 minutes before start time.

Great day with chef Francisco - Francisco met us at the market and from there we gathered all the fresh ingredients for our day of cooking. We took a small drive to Francisco’s home and immediately began making a fresh Margarita to sip as we made our menu items which included salsa mexicana, salsa verde, guacamole, and chicken tamales. Francisco explained each dish and answered any questions we had. The food was delicious and the whole experience was great.

Fun, friendly and great food - Chef Francesco met us and we went through the market selecting all the ingredients. Then went to his house and helped prepare a feast, learning about tamales, sauces and side dishes. Great feed and lots of fun.

Wonderful experience with Chef Francisco - Chef Francisco is a warm and knowledgeable chef/host. From the moment we met him at the market, he provided us with his knowledge and insights about buying produce and meats for our meal. He and Luz welcomed us into their home and treated us as family. The hands on experience of preparing and cooking our carnitas meal was both fun and educational. I would highly recommend Cookin’ San Jose anytime you visit San Jose del Cabo.

An amazing cooking adventure - Cookin Vallarta was an amazing adventure. We were met by Francisco at the market where we did some shopping and learned about picking vegetables. We then went to the best tortilla factory in San Jose (Tortilleria El Molinito) and then to his home where we created the most amazing hibiscus flavoured margarita. He then taught us to make the best tamales I’ve ever tasted. Thanks Francisco 🙏🏾

Highlight of the trip to Cabo, made new friends, had fun and learned new things. - It was the first time we have attended a cooking class and it was such a fun event, with Francisco not just being our head chef, but driver, tour guide and host. He is such a wonderful person that made this the highlight of our trip to Cabo, we also had such a fun group of people that made it even more enjoyable when everyone was engaged and having fun. Highly recommended.

Mexican Chef Delight - Chef Francisco was very informative and an excellent chef. Learned about picking freshest produce at the market and went to Francisco’s home to make fresh lime juice margarita and prepare a meal. Made tamales, pico de gallo, guacamole, poblano side dish. All delicious and he was so gracious. Wonderful excursion and highly recommended.
