This port accommodates international ships and cruise liners, which anchor half a nautical mile from the dock at a depth of 10 meters. The seabed is ideal for secure anchoring. San Juan del Sur is a city on the southwest coast of Nicaragua. It is known for its stretch of beaches on the Pacific, such as Maderas Beach, with its strong breaking waves, and Marsella Beach, which is quieter. On a cliff above the city bay stands a contemporary statue of Christ. Near a stream on the outskirts of the city is an ancient petroglyph. La Flor Natural Reserve is located south along the coast and is a nesting site for olive ridley turtles.
