La Cueva del Indio is one of the most fascinating historical and natural treasures of Puerto Rico that stands as a tangible testament to the Taino presence and spiritual life. Located on the northern coast of the municipality of Arecibo, this cave its known for its petroglyphs, its stunning coastal landscape, and its archaeological significance. We hike around 15 minutes to reach the cave. The entrance of the cave is narrow for about 5 meters (need to have good body mobility to fully enjoy the adventure). Inside the cave, numerous petroglyphs can be found, carved into limestone rock by the Tainos. These inscription depict human figures, animals, and abstract symbols.
