David is well-versed with the most photogenic spots in and around Santa Fe and is happy to assist travelers with inquiries about local dining, cultural events, hiking, and more.

We meet at the corner of the Santa Fe downtown plaza on Lincoln and E. San Francisco st. just across the street from Haagen-Dazs. Arrive by 11:25 am. Start time 11:30 am. Photo-Tour finishes at 1:30 pm.

Photography Basics: A Transformative Two-Hour Session with David! - We attended David's two-hour photography class where we dove into essential aspects of photography like composition, optimal positioning for shots, mindfulness during photo-taking, and using Snapseed for editing. David's guidance was thoughtful and invaluable as he walked us through these fundamentals of great photography. His expertise and patience made the learning experience both enjoyable and productive. BEST DAY EVER! - My granddaughter and I took a class with David and really enjoyed it! She is only 10, and David was able to teach her basic photographic techniques that she is continuing to use and grow with. She loves it! Now, she is wanting a camera for her birthday. David is a great teacher and brings a lot of joy and love for photography. I highly recommend his class

Hoptman's class was a highlight of our trip to Santa Fe! - David Hoptman was a fantastic instructor and made the class a terrific experience. Not only was it a fun two hours but the concepts and pro tips that he taught us will yield benefits for years to come! This kind of instruction from a professional artist and university professor is not something that you'll find elsewhere. Highly recommend!

Great introduction to "seeing" Santa Fe - What a fabulous way to start off our vacay in Santa Fe. David is great teacher and was super patient with myself and my mother who had a bit of anxiety because her iPhone is kind of old. I really appreciated the knowledge and guidance he provided and definitely felt more confident when it came to taking photos of Santa Fe. ( I kept going back to one spot trying to nail down my "vigas" pictures - hahaha IYKYK) I also really appreciate the editing app David introduced us to and after playing around with it feel like my pics are so much richer and beautiful. Thank you for such unique way to see Santa Fe.

A new view - This is a unique experience for anyone who wants to slow down and experience the scenery in a different way. David was a great teacher. He shared a lot of great techniques in a short period of time and we left with skills that we continued to use the rest of our trip.

Get Smart with your Smart Phone! - The 2 hr walking photo tour around Santa Fe was very informative and useful. Small group of 4 so you felt like you got individual attention. David is detail oriented and has a great eye for composition, form and style. Loved the day!
