- Museo del Oro Tairona - Casa de la Aduana - Visit the Tayrona Gold Museum for a brief tour. This was the first building constructed in the city by the Spaniards and now serves as a cultural site dedicated to preserving and displaying the indigenous ancestral heritage through their metalwork.
- Catedral de Santa Marta - Stroll to Bolivar Square Park and then to the Rodrigo Bastidas monument. The first honors the leader of South American independence, and the second pays tribute to the Spanish founder of the city. Continue walking along the bay to reach “El parque de los novios” (the lovers’ park), the main park in Santa Marta’s downtown that comes alive every night with young locals dancing and having fun. Touring in Santa Marta with Andrea - We loved this tour, our guide Andrea was awesome! She shared so much of her knowledge on the history of Santa Marta! This was a private tour which we also really loved! I highly recommend this tour, and guide Andrea!

Learn and Appreciate Santa Marta’s History - I found the history of Santa Marta extremely moving and of great interest. The museum demonstrated the progression and development of the first peoples and how the country was impacted by invaders.
