20 Bicknell Ave - Our Group Lessons last for 2 hours and consist of 20-30 minutes training on the beach and 50-60 minutes with the instructors in the water. The remaining time is yours to practice your skills and have fun with the surfboards we provide you.
Group Lessons are suitable for students of beginner-intermediate levels with the age limit of 12 years old minimum.
We use 8 and 9-foot foam top surfboards for our Group Lessons. Fiberglass boards are not allowed to Group Lessons due to safety reasons.
Please keep in mind that this is a Small Group Lesson, 4 people max in the group, and you will be combined with other participants! If you would like to book a Private Lesson, we offer those as well.

Based in Venice Beach, we are FUN SURF LA, a surf school with a mission is to ensure you have a great time surfing. Whether you’re a first-timer or looking to improve your surfing skills, we’ve got you covered. We’ll start with a 30-40 minutes training session on the beach followed by an hour of practical surfing in the ocean with our experienced instructors. Afterwards, you’ll have free time to practice further and enjoy using our provided surfboards.
Our lessons are held on the iconic Venice Beach, one of California’s most renowned beaches. Here, you’ll get the chance to relish the ocean, gain surfing skills and immerse yourself in the unique bohemian atmosphere of Venice Beach.

We will meet you on the right side of the parking lot off Bicknell Ave. Once you enter the parking lot turn right and you will see the blue surf school bus with pink FUN SURF LA logo on it.

Awesome first time experience - Its my first time ever surfing and it was amazing, we did practice on the beach first and then went in the water, the instructor was very patient and helpful, and i made it 4 time full stating riding the wave 😃, totally recommended

Good experience. - The instructor was well experienced and helpful. The two hours went by in a flash it seems. Do make sure you're in good physical shape. Swimming back out after each try takes effort. It was a good experience overall and I got one or two almost good rides in.

Great experience! So fun - This was an awesome intro to surfing! Highly recommend it for the entire family not just the young ones. I’m 53 and I was able to get up on the board!

Perfect Surfing Morning - It was a great experience. The first 20/30 minutes the teacher explained us the basics about surf like how we have to stay, the movements , … We spend the rest of the two hours in the sea, trying to stay over the board, having a lot of fun. The teacher was incredibly nice, explaining all as best as he could.

Fun lesson - Very good lesson for a beginner. It was my first time. 20 mins learning on the beach and then into the water. The teacher was really nice but a little harsh on me, I would prefer he was a bit more encouraging. Otherwise a really amazing experience.
