Highlights
  • Tac Turismo - The cellar of Macul was commissioned by Luis Cousiño to a firm of French architects in 1870. Located in the center of the property, it was built using bricks and limestone stuck together with lime and ridge; a mixture of sand and egg white. The basement was built seven meters deep with double walls where an air flow circulates to create a passive ventilation system. This guarantees a constant temperature of 14ºC and a humidity close to 75% for the optimum maturation of the wine in barrels. This wonder of the 19th century is considered one of the most efficient and grandiose cellars in the world.

Excellent wine tour! - One of the most educated winery tours we have been on. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. This tour is small and quaint. Upgrade to the premium package.

Excellent!! - This was my first wine tour and I honestly thought that I wouldn't care much for it. My brother whom I was traveling with had done them before and wanted to do one while in Chile. I actually really enjoyed it! Alejandro whom was our tour guide was FANTASTIC! He was very knowledgeable and friendly and did an awesome job of showing us around and answering questions. We actually wished we had signed up for the extended tour as opposed to the short one.

Great tour with tasty wines! - Our guide Alejandro was very informative and humorous and enjoyable to listen to. It was very interesting to hear about the history of the vineyard and the oldest cellar in Chile. My brother who's never fancied wine or vineyards found it all quite interesting and a fun tour even for him.

Brief and expensive tour to nice wine yard - The stay at the vineyard was fine although brief (less than one hour). The price is rather high for the time - and wine tastings - devoted. Would recommend other tours instead.
