A site worth the detour - Very close to Sevilla, short drive at a town called Santiponce. You can also get a bus from Sevilla. The entrance is free but not sure for how long as the site has applied for UNESCO classing. It is vast, so a good pair of walking shoes water and hat if you visit in the hot months. Very hot. Numerous amazing mosaics. Very close by do not miss a stop at the Monasterio de San Isidro del Campo, also a free visit. I recommend.

Italica visit - We enjoyed our visit to Italica with Patricia who was a lovely guide. We were awed by whole site but sadden that there is a lack of funding to protect this treasure. The ruins are incredible and give you a peak into life in Roman times.

Cool Experience - Javier was our guide, and he did a great job of "bringing to life" what we were looking at, so we really got a great sense of the ruins in a way that I don't think just wandering by ourselves reading the signs would have done. The ruins themselves are very impressive, so much of the beautiful mosaics surviving, and the amphitheater is very very cool.
