Special views and village - After doing a nice tour with art and travel, we decided to book another tour and they suggested us to see Lukomir. I am very surprised with the nature in Bosnia and did not expect how beautiful the country is. The tracks while hiking are good and views are incredible, you don't need to be in super shape to do it, but it was a good exercise for us. The village is very special and the food was also tasty. Our guide was Edi and he was asking if we are tired, do we need rest, so no rush at all. We recommend to every person that wants to see the country side and mountains of Sarajevo.

Incredible Views & Incredible Guide - I went on the hiking trip to Lukomir village. I thoroughly enjoyed spending the day with Mak and found his knowledge was incredible. Mak has a great way of making conversation and motivating you while on the hike. Mak took into consideration the fact I was fasting while on the hike and scheduled rest breaks. He also provided us a lot of advice about where to open our fast for Iftar. The hike itself was incredible with stunning views of Sarajevo, I would highly recommend everyone to go on this hike, it really displays the beauty of the Balkans. I wish Mak the best with everything and definitely look forward to touring with Arts and Tours again in the future.

Much more than a hike up a mountain - My family and I spent a week in Bosnia touring the various popular tourist destinations but this trip was by far the highlight of the week for all of us. The tour started and we were picked up outside our house which was a pleasant surprise since we thought we had to meet somewhere in the city centre. The drive there was, in some ways, equally enjoyable as the hike itself. Mak, our guide, spoke to us about the geography and history of Bosnia, and spoke at length about the recent conflict. We were very excited to learn that Mak had given tours to some high profile celebrities too! The views during the drive were pleasant and we were shown views of the various mountains used in the Olympic games (many of the signs put up during the games are still visible). Once we arrived at the bottom of the mountain we began our ascent. Mak helped us keep a steady pace and pointed out the various mountain ranges and visible ravines. At various points you can see the ranges that belong in Bosnia and those that belong to Herzegovina. The views are absolutely breathtaking. The trek was certainly a workout for my elder family members but we got to the village eventually. The village itself was very simple yet pleasant. We enjoyed lunch at the mountain restuarant and had burak with mountain juices (highly recommend the Elderflower juice). Following lunch Mak spoke to us about the way of life for villagers in Lukomir and showed us around a little. We then made the descent back down. In summary the trip was definitely worth it since the mountain ranges in Bosnia are certainly unlike any other I’ve ever seen. For us however the time spent with Mak was probably the highlight. We certainly felt as if we experienced true Bosnian hospitality in his company.

Easy trek through a beautiful landscape - We had a great time in the Bosnian mountains trekking to Lukomir. The transport was without any troubles and our guide Mak told us some interesting facts about the region bordering on Herzegovina and the mountain village. We enjoyed a nice meal in the village, checked out the nearby vista and had a relaxing way back to Sarajevo. If you enjoy an easy trek in a beautiful landscape, you will enjoy this tour!

A beautiful hike - The views on this tour are fantastic, on one side are wide open alpine meadows and on the other is a deep canyon. The village itself is a gem, it looks and smells like a mountain village that herds sheep and does small farms. We had their famous barak as we rested from the hike. Rain was predicted so the tour company. altered the trip to be a road trip instead of a hike. However when we got close to Lukomire the weather was good enough to hike so Bakir, my guide, let me off about 7KM for the village and I got to hike to it. Afterwards we hiked for about an hour and a half in the other direction, so despite the prediction of rain I got a good hike in. The only downside was a long ride on a rather bad road which isolates the village. I am not complaining, if there was a paved road the village wouldn't be what it is.

Best experience with excellent guides - Absolutely one of the highlights of an 18-day Balkan trip! I took on the challenge of completing this trek, and it was made more enjoyable with Mak and Ken! Mak was knowledgeable about the history of his beloved city and did so clearly and concisely. He was eager to share with our group, and could observe his passion. He was pretty personable and an overall great person, I would recommend this tour, and if you connect with Mak and Ken, you will not be disappointed! The food was terrific, and they were right, do not try burek after having the one in Lukomir!

Great tour with Alen - The tour was great: perfect choice of locations to stop, private bus to ride but most of all incredible guide. Alen shared with us his personal story during the war and that really made the tour special. We also got the chance to visit the abandoned bob slope from the olympics of ‘84. Defenetely the best tour of Sarajevo we could hope for
