Perfect day of culture, craft and cuisine! - We had a fantastic day thanks to our guide Michael who ensured the smooth running of the day and was attentive to our every comfort, with attention to the smallest detail. He was a constant source of interesting information. Knossos is a must if you are visiting Crete. Impressive ancient ruins in a beautiful setting. We were aware of the €15 entry on top of the tour price. Michael organised for us to skip the long queue. Pottery experience was fun. I would have liked more time with this, but the busy itinerary didn’t allow. We bought some beautiful pieces of pottery. Lunch in a picturesque mountain village under the shade of a mulberry tree was sublime. Authentic Cretan cuisine accompanied by ice-cold wine and water was delicious! Olive factory was informative with opportunity for tasting and shopping. I must mention that our guide went above and beyond to rectify a mistake when another guest mistakenly took my shopping. He retrieved the package and personally delivered it to our accommodation. Definitely 5 stars for Michael and the Tour!

A great day - Hieno päivä ! - We really enjoyed our day trip from Ierapetra to Knossos Minoan Palace and to Pottery Workshop close to Voni with our guides, Rolf and Petra at 4.7.2023. Guides were very friendly, knowledgable and helpful. The lunch was delicious and there was a lot of it in the Panellinion taverna at Apostoli village. Day was hot but Land Rover's aircon made it tolerable. We would definitely use Adventure Crete again. Perheen päiväretki Ierapetrasta Knossoksen rauniopalatsille sekä keramiikkapajaan Vonin kylän lähelle sujui hienosti 4.7.2023. Oppaamme Rolf ja Petra olivat ystävällisiä auttavaisia ja tuntevat kohteet reitin varrella. Lounastimme Panellinion -ravintolassa Apostolin kylässä. Lounas oli runsas ja maistuva. Land Roverin ilmastointi piti kuuman matkapäivän siedettävänä. Adventure Creten retket tutkitaan jälleen kun seuraavan kerran lomailemme Kreetalla.

Happy ever after… - This was a day of stories - the myths of Theseus and Zeus, the possible histories of the palace at Knossos, the story of a family pottery. Petra was an excellent guide and shared her knowledge of wild herbs and flowers, Cretan life and customs along the way. Thank you!

Ancient and modern in a day - A fantastic way to delve into the Ancient and modern history of Crete. The Palace of Knossos was the main event but be advised that your guide from Adventure Crete cannot accompany you into any of the sites. A guide is available at the Palace but this will be extra and on average 100 euros and subject to demand. The guide book helps and there are plenty of information signs dotted around. Petra was and excellent hostess, ensured that we all got the best out of the day and was a font of knowledge. Alex was in training and was very kind and helpful, I wish him the best.

Lovely day out - My husband and I were going to hire a car to visit some places in Crete but decided to leave it to the experts! Michael our driver was very good. Polite, informative, friendly and an excellent driver on sometimes narrow and busy roads. Palace of Knossos was our first stop. We had an hour and 20 mins here, easily enough time. Entrance fee is NOT included (€15 each) and if you want a guide you have to choose one that is outside and again pay separately. We didn't bother as there are explanation boards around the site. Next we had a fantastic drive through the mountains to the Plateau and the Zeus caves. What a drive for fantastic views. Quite a steep walk to get to the entrance of the caves, again entrance fee is NOT included in the price of the trip (€6 each). To finish our trip we had a lovely lunch near to the caves where Dimitri and his wife were very hospitable and provided lovely food, wine and of course raki. All in all a great trip and would recommend. Special thank you to Michael.

The mountains are fabulous - Our driver Petra was fantastic, the whole experience was fun, informative and educational. It was our anniversary and she made it special. The trip was shared with a couple from a nearby hotel who were great company too. We were collected from our hotel at 8am and went on to collect the other couple. The jeep was comfy with air conditioning and water supplied in the back. Our guide chatted about the area as we made our way to Knossos. We started at the Palace, but whilst early it was busy. No guide which is a real shame as its an extra 30euros to get in per couple on top of the price of the trip. We would have preferred to pay extra and have a guide inside the Palace. So we ended up wandering about with a 7euro guidebook, a bit lost at the ruins. If I'm honest this was a real disappointment and I would have given the trip 2 stars if it weren't for Petra making up for it after. You only get about an hour in the Palace so it's quite rushed. We came out concerned about what would happen next. We were then taken up into the mountains with plenty of opportunities for photographs of the truly magnificent views. Petra showed us local herbs and information of the area. Including the damn and sheep! We were taken to a small village with a huge tree around 2,500 years old! You really have to see it. The trips highlight ended with lunch at the most wonderful taverna high in the mountains. Beautiful food and great company, the owner (name escapes me) is an entertainer. Making his own wine and Raki of which he is very proud. All his meats are Grilled on his barbecue, vegetables and herbs all handpicked and cooked by his wife. A lovely family and what Crete is really about. A magical experience that I highly recommend.

Bad service - Booked this tour in a few months ago and was messaged by staff on a couple of occasions asking if we could change the date and then what port we arrive in then today (2 days out from trip) they informed us they had to cancel due to low numbers. Now we are left scrambling trying to get on a tour to take us to the places we wanted to visit. Not a professional service in my opinion.
