Highlights
  • Stockholm Old Town - Our journey begins with picturesque views of the City Hall from Riddarholmen island. We discuss the Nobel Prize and UNESCO heritage sites in Stockholm, and pass by the oldest surviving building, dating back to 1270.

We bike over the bridge to the Old Town, passing all the main attractions: the shopping street, Priest Street (formerly Hell Street), the Market Square, the Nobel Prize Museum, and of course, the Royal Palace.

  • Royal Palace - As we near the end of our time in the Old Town, we will pass by the Royal Palace and Stockholm Cathedral. We will talk about the Swedish monarchy and our Royal family.

Did you know that last year our King celebrated 50 years on the throne, making him the longest-reigning king in Europe and the third longest in the world?

  • Nationalmuseum - We pass by the Grand Hotel and the National Gallery, enjoying a lovely view of one of the two main ports with boats departing to the islands of the vast Stockholm archipelago.

During our first “Fika” break, your guide will recommend their favorite go-to islands. Did you know that the Stockholm archipelago consists of more than 30,000 islands?

  • Kungliga Djurgarden - ABBA Museum, VASA Museum, Viking Museum… No bike tour in Stockholm is complete without passing by the world’s first city national park, Royal Djurgården!

We pass by all the must-see sights from the outside and cover the history of this beautiful island. Surrounded by lush nature, we take a well-deserved break at the Rosendal Garden, where we park our bikes, fill up our water bottles, and enjoy the stunning garden offered by this private foundation.

  • Ostermalm - A segment exclusive to our bike tours is Östermalm! We bike through the Paris-inspired boulevards of Östermalm, the upscale residential area of Stockholm, and admire the beautiful architecture around us. On our way back downtown, we stop at the Östermalm Food Hall, the oldest food hall in Stockholm, dating back to 1888.

Did you know that Swedish DJ Avicii grew up in this area and went to school here?

  • Royal Dramatic Theater (Kungliga Dramatiska Teatern) - On our way back downtown, we pass the Royal Dramatic Theatre, Dramaten. Right next to it, we can see Nybrokajen, the second main port with boats to the archipelago islands.

The main focus at this stop is Raoul Wallenberg Square. Raoul Wallenberg was a Swedish hero from WWII, famous for saving many Jewish lives fleeing Nazi-occupied Hungary.

  • Parliament House - No city tour is complete without biking past the Parliament building and the Swedish “White House.” Your guide will give you shopping recommendations around the area and suggest a visit to the newly built IKEA warehouse just around the corner.
  • The Royal Swedish Opera - Opposite the Parliament House, we pass by the Royal Swedish Opera House.

Did you know that in 1792, our king at the time, Gustav III, was shot and murdered in this very building during a masquerade?

After enjoying our second “Fika” break together at this stop, it’s time to head back to our starting point at Odenplan.
